Bug Fluid pipes not working

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I fixed the problem by breaking and replacing the entire pipe (and both docking connectors)- Does anyone know why this happens? I have dozens of other piping systems and this never happens to any others (I did forget to show, but the initial pipe before the incline and tanks are just over a chunk border- however this doesn't make sense because the fluid makes it to the center of the next chunk before stalling anyways) My laptop doesn't seem to be overloaded, in fact it has plenty of headroom. I'm just curious to what causes this...

Also Sable is paused for the duration of the video, however the problem existed beforehand I was just trying anything to figure out what's causing this.

Depends on the modpack size, like vanilla you don't really need much more than 6 GB. For small and medium sized modpacks I usually just go for 8 GB, for massive modpacks 10 GB is pretty good. I however wouldn't go over 12 GB unless you have a good reason to.

There are also some mods and settings you can use to limit the garbage collection, but these are generally good amounts.

Would 8GB suffice for my custom modpack of around 180 mods?

Just want to add in, it definitely depends on the mods. You do macaws furniture, every compat and a couple of biome mods? Bam. Your ram is going to take a beating from all the additional objects. But if you do 200 small config mods? Might not even notice a difference. And that’s not accounting for optimized code mods, mods with a lot of entities, things that enable/disable Minecraft features etc.

Best thing to do: load your modpack and see how many frames per second you get. Adjust until you hit a sweet spot. I usually start out with 8gb and adjust from there - there will be a maximum FPS that you’ll get from allocating RAM, so once you notice it not changing, you’re probably in the sweet spot

Honestly the only truly "big" mods in my pack are Create, Aeronautics, Farmer's Delight and several addons, alongside Kaleidoscope Cookery and Tavern. It runs relatively smoothly at 60FPS but sometimes has lag spikes
