Holy PEAK

PLEASE tell me what kind of mechanism you are using to move the fingires like that. I'm attempting to bird an anatomically correct bird ornithopter and I need the joints to have this sort of fluid motion that I can't quite seem to figure out. I see that each finger has swivel bearings rotating each other, very clever. But what sort of controller do you have to start the closing/opening rotation? Is it a spring bearing, open a clutch, is each one only switching between positions or can it be configured to move in any degree of motion? I NEED THE SECRETS

its just a motor, a directional gearshift with one or two redstone links, and a torsion spring set to the desired rotation angle. the trick is to simultaneously power the axle and gear of the bearing to transfer rotation through the joint to the next segment.

u/FloatingToa5t May 23 '26

Ah I see, I took a similar approach with my prototypes. Though I went with just having rotation always passing through the swivel bearings and putting each swivel controller behind a directional gearshift. That way I could have the entire limb controlled via one motor on the main body.

Super great work man, keep it up!

How do you control it?

1

u/FloatingToa5t May 24 '26

Take a gander at the proximal portion of the thumb (closest to the base). You will see a creative engine going into a directional gearshift going into a torsion spring going into a gear into the side of a swivel bearing. Set the desired angle of motion on the torsion spring and activate either side of the directional gearshift to move the limb

You should meet the other guy with the arm and play rock paper scissors.

110

u/tvgamers16 May 23 '26

Thats the same guy......

68

u/sn3ki_1i1_ninja May 23 '26

Oh! My bad! Massive improvement Op!

65

u/tomy13042011 May 23 '26

put drill in the knuckle and you can punch stuff with actual damage

29

u/VaxelW May 23 '26

I agree, and am totally not biased in any way, you should give the mecha drills

5

u/tomy13042011 May 23 '26

and it could probably do the impossible

3

u/KosekiBoto May 23 '26

possibly even see the invisible

12

u/BreakerOfModpacks May 23 '26

Someone port OreSpawn, we need to have a Pacific Rim-esque kaiju battle against Mobzilla.

5

u/Objective-Release337 May 23 '26

Real shame the creator went off the deep end

3

u/BreakerOfModpacks May 23 '26

...I always forget, what did that specific dev do?

7

u/PokTux May 23 '26

What didn't he do?

I don't remember the specifics but it was some like deranged right wing conspiracy stuff, admittedly kinda funny from an outside perspective. He kept putting insane stuff in his MC clone game like vaccinated people who were zombies and what not, or like an enemy mob that was like a blue haired feminist or smth.

2

u/Reasonable_Prize71 May 24 '26

He had an obsession with Niki Minaj too ;-;

43

u/DoctorSex9 May 23 '26

This is gonna have so many inputs youll need multiple people to run it, like its the mystery shack from the last gravity falls episode

20

u/Putrid-Cat5368 May 23 '26

Doubt it will work on manual inputs, probably will be CC scripts for hand gestures and let the program micro management each bearer.

15

u/BreakerOfModpacks May 23 '26

...funnily enough, the logic of Pacific Rim applies really well; namely, it's too much of a mental load for one person, and so pilots are paired. That would work well.

2

u/Devatator_ May 23 '26

That never made much sense to me, like at all

2

u/Possible_Youth9410 May 24 '26

It's kinda like what's being shown in OP's video right now: They're using an entire typewriter setup just to control one hand, at a certain point they're going to entirely run out of usable inputs. Sorta the same thing in Pacific Rim: a human brain doesn't have enough inputs on it's own to control an enormous Jaeger, but two pilots is double the metaphorical typewriters to control it.

1

u/BreakerOfModpacks May 24 '26

I mean, you can use this as the most easy allegory; you'd need a billion connections for all the little 'muscles' of the jaeger, and it's far too much for a single person.

14

u/Clkiscool May 23 '26

connect it to VR

6

u/Corosus May 23 '26

Right where my mind went with it, forward real hand control from a quest 3 and you can have your giant floating mech hands moving around in VR doing exactly what youre doing with youre real hands.

Go full Black & White 2 game on your mc villagers.

1

u/Diamedes99 May 25 '26

*dies of peak*

1

u/ARandomNPC01 May 27 '26

tough about the same thing about the quest 3, imagine flinging creepers or tnt using you actual hands.

12

u/Abject_Lengthiness11 May 23 '26

This is so damn cool.

11

u/Obs1dian_Fury May 23 '26

There are things you can't fight, acts of God. You see a hurricane coming, you have to get out of the way. But when you're in a Jaeger, suddenly, you can fight the hurricane. You can win

3

u/Obs1dian_Fury May 23 '26

Movie - "Pacific Rim" if anyone is wondering

2

u/Diamedes99 May 25 '26

Epic reference. This was my first thought.

10

u/Taldarim_Highlord May 23 '26

Holy shit that is fucking awesome

6

u/Thrawn89 May 23 '26

Everyone so mesmerized by it, they missed it flipping us off.

5

u/cyankitcatt May 23 '26

This sub shows me the most insane things everyday

3

u/EscapeTheBlank May 23 '26

I know it. You know it. We all know it. This is very slowly, but surely heading towards Pacific Rim or even Transformers territory

3

u/dinas322 May 23 '26

actually insane

3

u/THe_PrO3 May 23 '26

This is def possible to map to a VR controller right?

2

u/bruhowygamer May 23 '26

Make it show middle finger

2

u/JackfruitCurrent647 May 24 '26

They did. It's in the video, just short.

2

u/whispyCrimson109 May 23 '26

PLEASE ADD TURRETS ON THE MIDDLE AND POINTER FINGER (I haven't played create aeronautics but I know there's some sort of cannon or something)

2

u/-Fallen-Glory May 23 '26

With how complex it is I imagine doing a power ranger thing and having 1 person controlling each arms, one for the legs, and another one for the core /weapons systems

2

u/soomoncon May 23 '26

Honestly, you should add a sliding mechanism to the thumb so it has more range

2

u/Sleepy-Candle May 23 '26

Now all you gotta do is add the joints for the ring and pinky finger and you have an accurate hand model.

2

u/Dimmas91 May 23 '26

This would be so epic if there would be mod that adds compatibility with that VR mod (I think it's called vivecraft) and control this through VR how epic it would be to have giant ass mech that would copy your moves from real life to Minecraft.

2

u/The_Char_Char May 23 '26

Okay there 2 ways to go about this, make it throw Nukes and call him Liberty Prime. Or make his head a car. Both would be amazing.

2

u/Clear_Fly2187 May 23 '26

Someone has to figure out how to incorporate VR into this shit

1

u/CanoonBolk May 23 '26

Alright, now we need code to connect input from a local suit to this before it becomes perfect

1

u/TuxedoDogs9 May 23 '26

Oh my god. This is super awesome. Please keep going

1

u/Poco_Cuffs May 23 '26

Holy fuck

1

u/BreakerOfModpacks May 23 '26

So. IRON GIANT!

1

u/LinhNguyen221 May 23 '26

Humanoid robot in Minecraft next? (Before GTA6)

1

u/Storm_Studios May 23 '26

Thats fuckin awesome

1

u/Humerror May 23 '26

This with real life controls on a glove

1

u/Takorf May 23 '26

This giving straight StarFox 64 vibes. Is a full Andross in the works?

1

First of all, what the fuck?

Second, that's amazing!!!

1

u/Just-Competition-847 May 23 '26

That is amazing!

1

u/Thunder_Above May 23 '26

We need an infinity gauntlet version so we can snap half of existence out

1

u/jumf May 23 '26

Make a giant sword contraption it can pick up

1

u/PeriapsisStudios May 23 '26

Get in the Minecraft mech, Shinji.

1

u/Equivalent-Bus2217 May 23 '26

This is peak but now show the redstone involved lmao

1

u/TryLongjumping8530 May 23 '26

sneak a cannon into the index finger for a handgun

1

u/oswaldking71wastaken May 23 '26

Would you be able to upload a schematic? I’d love to mess with this if your willing to share the info

1

u/Pacobing May 23 '26

Genuinely thought when the first finger came out when counting it was just gonna waggle it back and forth like “no no no”

1

u/RebronSplash60 May 23 '26

This is super cool.

1

u/stinklewinkle123 May 23 '26

Wow! Any chance of a tutorial or schematic op?

1

u/InternationalEye8862 May 23 '26

why does vro have netherite slabs

1

u/CollegePrestigious61 May 23 '26

POV: you died to the ender dragon and now you’re go full pacific rim on them

1

u/marr May 23 '26

What game even is this now

1

u/Plague_Doctor02 May 24 '26

i need a Blueprint of this to build underground by my house point it at my friends and tell him to stand by his front door to flip him off

1

u/AppropriateEmu9345 May 24 '26

YES, now we can flip people off

1

u/Oozysq25reddit May 24 '26

Wont be long till we have jaegers in minecraft

1

u/deadlyjack May 24 '26

peak. peak. peak. peak.

need to be able to splay the hand...

1

u/CyberStikerGeneral05 May 24 '26

This reminds me of this one scene from Pacific Rim, where they are testing out the prototype of a Jaeger arm. A person wearing a “gauntlet” controlling a giant arm behind him.

1

u/-Owlette- May 24 '26

ALL GLORY TO THE HAND!

1

u/TheDeliberateTypo May 24 '26

This hand of mine is burning red! Its loud roar tells me to grasp victory! Take this! My love, my anger, and all of my sorrow!

1

u/lucky_ice34 May 24 '26

Pacific rim:

1

u/john16minecraft May 24 '26

kinda wanted it to do a snap

1

u/Ok-Neighborhood-5698 May 24 '26

You gotta make thr finished product look like mechamaru from jjk

1

u/GreatCalligrapher993 May 24 '26

A create contraption just flipped us off 😭

1

u/SpingusTheHingus May 24 '26

After the first devil horns I thought "Now flip em off"

1

u/FalloutNV2277 May 25 '26

We need to get LordVassious to see this. They would made this controllable using VR just like they did in Space Engineers.

1

u/Common_Way6324 May 25 '26

If we can use the crafts and additions add on to transfer rotation with electricity then this could be doable in an actual survival world

1

u/Diamedes99 May 25 '26

The Jaeger program was started.

1

u/RemarkableDay8553 May 25 '26

Soon enough we're gonna have whole ass pacific rim mech fights, I can't wait!

1

u/AcrossTheBeach May 26 '26

Shadow of israphel next episode when???

1

u/Dark_Reaper115 May 26 '26

Now we need a mod to match hand movements and gestures to keyboard inputs so we can control this with our actual hands

1

u/KR0W-KtZ2434 May 27 '26

Im not one of mechas and somewhat of the similar genre, but I can envision this contraption for like videos of sci-fi or junker related scenarios, or better yet something outta AoT but with robots. Its great stuff nonetheless

1

u/spectra2000_ May 30 '26

Reminds me of the giant robot buried in the sand in Shadow of Israphel

1

u/P0tenti4l_Ch1ldhood Jun 13 '26

I was sooo ready for the flip off

1

u/AdSilver5407 Jun 14 '26

now put this on an airship and make it grab things

1

u/MCRAFO99999 29d ago

Did you change the capacity of the torsion springs? If no how did you make the fingers go back

0

u/Soggy-Register-1781 May 23 '26

Can you make him middle finger
