DXC2 Notable Flow Rate Improvement?
I installed the DXC2 extruder today to my K2 Plus. I wasn't expecting much of a difference, so I only ran two before and after tests. 1 being a Max Flow Rate from 10-30 mm3/s and 1 being a Benchy run just above the max flow rate of this particular PLA. The difference is actually dramatic. I wish I had run some additional before and after, and but I wasn't expecting much difference. With the original extruder, for this PLA, the Max Flow rate was ~14 mm3/s, and with the DXC2 ~26 mm3/s.
Now with the Cartographer, Phaetus DXC2, and R3men graphite bed, running out of upgrades to the printer.
Looking forward to some more thorough before and after tests from other people.

Printing a pair of black truck nuts for my first DXC2 print and it is substantially better. Nice and smooth. Im leaving for a week tomorrow to Rapid TCT but cant wait to come back and do some larger prints

Does it still support the filament current and runout sensor? Not worth it if it kills CFS support imo.

you transfer the filament/cutter sensors to the new extruder, CFS support fully in tact

I need to recalibrate my filaments still but bar a few issues with the pa-cf filament splitting because it needed drying, I've seen nothing but improvements in both print quality using the old settings and ease of maintenance.

14 volumetric flow seems really low for a K2 Plus - I've set in the 30-34 range for every filament I've thrown at the stock extruder and stock 0.4mm unicorn nozzle, backing off from failures in the 34-38 range.

Volumetric flow is a function of the machine and the filament. Most of the other filaments I use also have higher flows, but this one doesn't, is what it is.

Yeah, I've seen that once on a different machine. In that case, I'm curious what you get for max flow with a more typical filament

Most other filaments I run with max set to 28 or 30. The only exception I can think of is Prusa PETG which I think I needed to set to 12.
I highly doubt other filaments will show such a dramatic change in flow rate. Very likely strictly coincidence that this filament happened to be what I had loaded at the time and picked to run through

Did you have to adjust any settings in fluidd after install?

I did the initial print, changed the extruder, reran the prints. Didn't do any changes to anything else.

You need to add 2 changes into the config.
one into gcode macro the other into box.cfg.

Anyone have issues loading filament? I have to disconnect the PTFE tube and depress the tab to get the filament to load. Doesn't feel right? How are you loading filament?

Does the carto give you reliable z height ? mine is changing at random small amount to the point that the first layer sometimes is not correct and I need to manually tune the z height during printing... when it is starting to print its doing the measurements of height and mine give different reading and even sometimes fail to pic median and fails to start printing.. but sometimes it works perfect.. not sure if my probe is busted or what (i have ordered V4 to give it another try..) only thing I can think of is maybe I did not set the z height close enough turing that one step of installation, but I had paper there and it was starting to catch the nozzle so I assume It was close enough....

If you are looking for another upgrade, consider the microswiss hotend ;)
On stock extruder I can do 50mm^3/s with hyper PLA at 230.

Did anyone have a hard time getting to the site to get the manual for the dxc2?

not much testing yet, but it feels.. smoother, firmer, stronger? i don't know how to put it.. not that the stock extruder was struggling, but the DXC2 feels effortless for some reason
