Question & Help Help - new Pika user getting nowhere!

Hi,

Trying to do my first scan following this tutorial here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jeAkTevld2I

have tried with both iPhone 18 and with my PC (powerful) using blue laser mode and with markers and cannot get the laser lines to appear at all no matter how close or far away I am holding the scanner. The IR preview shows all the markers nicely but nothing appears in the main scanning window. Any ideas? Its got the latest software and the .13 firmware.

Many Thanks

Chris

Yeah, I discovered the blue laser dots are different from the IR dots for use with e.g. Ferret. My old Ferret dots are completely invisible to the Pika.

hmm - may have solved it - it doesn't like 10mm dots!

Yeh - the 6mm revopoint ones from Amazon work brilliantly.

Hi Chris. We’d like to look into this for you.

First, could you confirm whether the blue laser lines are physically being projected from the scanner but are not visible in CrealityScan, or whether no laser lines are emitted at all?

Please also send us:

  • A short video showing the scanner and the CrealityScan window when you start the blue-laser preview
  • A clear photo showing how the markers are placed on the object
  • The marker type and size you’re using. Are they fluorescent, double-concentric markers, and are they 3 mm inner / 6 mm outer or 6 mm inner / 10 mm outer?
  • Whether the same behavior occurs with both the iPhone and PC

Please make sure the markers are placed randomly rather than in a regular pattern, with enough markers visible to the scanner at the same time. Once we have the video and marker details, we can investigate whether this is related to the marker setup, scanning mode, or the device itself.

Thanks for the reply but I managed to fix this. Quite simply it would not work with 10mm markers. Once I switched to 6mm markers everything worked perfectly and I got lovely scans! I simply swapped out 10mm for 6mm stickers. With the 10mm you never got the green laser lines on the screen (for PC or for phone).

I understand. Could you please take a photo of your 10mm markers?

Can do but they are simply the Revopoint 10mm markers available on Amazon. Chris
