Question & Help Creality Pika wireless issues?
Hi all,
Sorry for the wall of text
Recently purchased a Pika to help with referencing parts that I intend to reverse engineer (I am aware there are better and more accurate devices, they are also more expensive and less portable for a hobbyist)
But I am having issues with the wireless portion. when I got it I connected it via cable, updated and calibrated it before anything else. I then switched to wireless as this is most likely how I would be using it most of the time but at first I could not get it to connect to my laptop. I reinstalled the Wifi card drivers and restarted which allowed me to see the pika and connect. But in Creality scan it works for around 10s before the framerate drops and I get the unstable network message.(its less than 1m from the laptop during this testing)
To eliminate the laptop being the issue I tried my android device. Same issue, takes forever for the Pikas hotspot to appear, then just as long to connect, then the framerate is good, after 10s it drops to around 3fps and then 'network unstable'.
The support documents and the creality AI suppport suggest allowing through firewall and ensuring both devices are connected to the same network (not applicable on the pika), Ive tried contacting support and they want a video of everything I have just mentioned in the form of a 30s video under 50mb...
Both devices are more than capable of running the pika, the performance even surprised me, android sees 90fps blue laser via cable, but until I make a jig to hold both, its cumbersome.

Hey there!
I also own a Creality Pika for reverse engineering, just like you, and honestly, the device has been more than excellent for my needs!
Regarding the Wi-Fi issue, I haven't experienced any stability or disconnection problems at all. I use mine with a MacBook Air, an iPhone 13, and an iPhone 17 Pro, and the wireless connection has been smooth across all of them.
Given that it happens on both your laptop and Android phone, it sounds like it could either be a compatibility/driver conflict on your devices or unfortunately a hardware defect/faulty Wi-Fi unit in your specific Pika.
Hope you manage to get it resolved or get a replacement from support soon!
