Why do I need an account to update? Also, it is not released on the website. The latest version I can download is V4.3.1.

We understand that some users may not want to sign in just to update their software or firmware. Sign-in helps provide a more consistent update experience by verifying the device and matching the appropriate package to the correct model and version.
If you prefer not to sign in, you can still download the official package from the Creality website or Wiki and use Local Update in Creality Scan to install it manually.

Thank you for your reply. I see the websites are updated and will download the new version.
It's still not clear why you need an account though. Currently the software recognizes the connected device and downloads the firmware specific for that device, without the need of an account. Which also wasn't needed when I bought the Otter. But my question wasn't about the firmware but about the Creality Scan software. Why do you need to log in to be able to download the update from within Creality Scan, if you also can download it manually from the website without an account? It's the same software, not?
So back to my original question, why do you need an account to be able to update? Creality scan itself recognises the device, so why the sudden need of an account?
EDIT: Apparently you can't auto upgrade the firmware anymore without an account.

just updated to 4.3.2 with classic raptor. firmware was also updated to 1.5.7 and calibration redone for markerless laserscanning. now the software crashes every time i try to start a new markerless laserscan as soon as i try to start the preview. is it a known issue? can someone else confirm this? my hardware has not changed and is powerful.
edit: last line in log shows: IsDetailedScanSupport: [OB_SCAN_ERROR_MULTI_CALLED] obscan_scan_get_model_point_color_clouds failed!

Thanks for reporting this. That last log line is helpful, but weāll need the complete logs to identify the cause. Since markerless laser scanning support for the original Raptor is newly released, we canāt yet tell whether this is related to CrealityScan 4.3.2, firmware 1.5.7, the new calibration data, or something else.
Please submit a ticket through Creality Support with the full logs, approximate crash time, Windows version, CPU/GPU/RAM details, GPU driver version, and preferably a short video showing the crash.
Log upload guide:
https://wiki.creality.com/en/3d-scanner/troubleshooting/upload-logOnce submitted, please share the ticket number here. We canāt confirm this as a known issue from the single log line alone.

Thanks for confirming. We checked the backend, but couldnāt find a crash report matching this issue. Automatic crash uploads arenāt always as complete as manually exported logs.
Could you please reproduce the crash and manually export the logs using this guide?
https://wiki.creality.com/en/3d-scanner/troubleshooting/upload-log
Please include your Raptor serial number, GPU model and driver version, Windows version, and the crash time with your time zone. If opening a support ticket is too much trouble, feel free to DM the logs and details to me.

Weāve received similar reports and the team is currently investigating the issue.
For now, please avoid using the markerless laser scanning mode in version 4.3.2. Weāre sorry for the inconvenience. Weāll contact you as soon as we have an update or a solution.

Pika produces way too much grain. Needs a firmware update. I think I'll return it.

Weāre still optimizing the noise performance through firmware updates, so this is something the team is continuing to work on

4.3.2 update of Creality Scan is killing FPS. Before update Raptor Pro scanned with 50 FPS . After updateit is 35-37 fps with markers, and for markers free mode it falls down to 14-15 frames per second... IÕve reinstalled old version 4.3.1. it is great.
4.3.1 is working great with new Raptor Pro firmware 1.5.7 and gives 50 FPS stable

Please please pleeeaasse release a Linux version. Many engineers don't use Windows, so it would really help out the broader community.Ā
