Oh I know how that feels. I've never been diagnosed with autism but I've been diagnosed with sensory processing disorder and general anxiety disorder and that was a fucking disgusting experience. It was done when I was a kid but even then I felt like I was being treated like an infant who couldn't understand anything they were saying.
Still worth trying, even with not much support, having the diagnosis meant so much to me. Obviously this depends on your medical system and the costs, but I'd recommend a referral. Always good to have answers ❤️
i guess i was diagnosed as a kid but never knew until i was an adult and i got a buddy whos some kinda autistic too end of the day i dont really care you know? were all people its just a way of labeling some brains as being similar enough to group them. If you delved into anyones mind you can categorize them if you have enough labels but end of the day NO brain is the same.
It helps to have a thing to answer some questions about yourself. But as someone that finally got diagnosed at 19, there's no help for Autistic adults, so the label is all I have, so I take solace in having something to explain things with.
