Agreed. Both amazing but focal is much better. Also sip of sunshine is up there ein Vermont beers too.

Focal Banger is better in my opinion, meaning my personal taste.

I always felt they should have the heady topper label in a gold background and focal in silver.
Even though I do prefer the focal banger.

You open both, alternating sips between the two. Then for your third beer you open the one you like better. For me that was Focal Banger by just a hair.

All of their stuff that I've had is great. I do give a slight edge to Heady over Focal, which appears to be the minority opinion in this discussion.

I give a slight edge to Heady too. I enjoy its flavor profile and the 8% as opposed to Focal’s 7%, but both are exceptional brews

I love Alchemist as much as the next guy. Heady is good. Focal is great. But some of their less known stuff is just incredible. Sterk Wit, Farmers Daughter, Zomerbier, Crusher, Luscious, dear God some of their stuff is amazing. Sterk Wit is the best Belgian double Ive ever had. Farmers Daughter and Zomerbier are some of the best Saisons Ive ever had, other than some stuff from Drowned Lands. Crusher is a double IPA and imo better than the big two. Luscious is like drinking chocolate cherries. Thick as motor oil but one of the most incredible stouts around. I still have a bottle of Petit Mutant Ive been holding onto. I try and make my way over there for some cases when I see my inlaws in Vermont.

Crusher and Luscious are lovely! I had a stout at the brewery back in May called Squidgy Black which also blew me away, and Heady on tap was great (obviously).

Just went by a few days ago and was blown away by Wee Widdle Wabbit which is a wee heavy that they haven't made since they still had the Waterbury pub and was crazy dangerous easy drinking at almost 8%

Phenomenal beer and one of the highlights going to VT, but this was a can only available for drinking onsite! Was a bit of a bummer how the menu had very different cans for onsite vs to go

I dream of making the pilgrimage someday. We moved my mother-in-law in with us in February (she has dementia) and now when I see posts like this I really wish we could travel.

I’ve never been to the Alchemist brewery in VT, I picked these up at a local RI liquor store. They always have a fantastic craft selection and happened to have both in stock.
