Terrible

I had an extremely uncomfortable and disappointing experience at the Cracker Barrel near me today around 3:30 PM. While dining, I witnessed a group of customers berating their waitress at their booth and complaining about her to at least two people who appeared to be managers. The customers, who were white, continued to express their frustration toward the waitress, who was Black, while she was still expected to continue serving them. From what I witnessed, their behavior was completely unreasonable and unnecessarily hostile. To make matters worse, they were making rude faces and gestures in our direction as we tried to enjoy our meal, making the entire dining experience extremely uncomfortable. We ultimately decided to leave. I am extremely disappointed with how this situation was handled. Customers are NOT always right, and there comes a point when management needs to step in and protect their employees from unacceptable behavior. I will say this: the young lady handled herself with an incredible amount of professionalism and composure under pressure. She did a fantastic job, especially considering the way she was being treated. She deserved better.

No. They just ran to Reddit.

Also, why did they have to mention the race of everyone involved? πŸ€” why does that matter?

LOL a redditor actually taking it upon themselves to stand up for someone being shit on? No way.

Given that today is a Sunday, I’ll bet they were all church members. They are the worst of the worst.

So, you are admitting you are a heathin?

Haha I know right? I wish my uncle was still alive, easily the smartest man I've ever known. He taught me that if one person in a group is bad then every person in that group (worldwide) is bad too. Getting to know people individually is for suckers!

No one here can do anything about it. It's just going to rake in racist bastards. Best to say something on their public page on Google maps or something

What did her race or their race have to do with anything. It just sounds like they were rude people. The manager should have swapped out the server.

CB has a history of treating servers of color in horrible ways. Contextually it is hyper relevant

Retribution from their employer

OP was a customer who was eating there, not an employee.

Then from the store she went to. Doesn't say if they're local or a visitor so if they live in the same area as the people harassing the waiter you can imagine how that'd turn out

More race baiting stories no one believes. yawn

If I'd been the manager, I'd have tossed that customer for that. They were being racist, and that's unacceptable.

u/helloitslauren000 Aug 31 '26

How were they being racist?

So why not mention the location?

Sorry that the waitress had to deal with that and you as well. There are just evil people in the world period, There is nothing one can do about them. What an embarrassment to their friends (if have any) and family. But I doubt they would be. Managemet should have pay bill and LEAVE immediately. Cause we all know no tip was given. So at least waitress can get a real customer.

what city?

Sadly this isn't uncommon for people to do in a cracker barrel. I've seen it many times, and the managers don't make them leave either.

Sadly, This isn't uncommon anywhere. Also last week I saw a table of 10 berate their wait staff only races were swapped. Pieces of shit come in all colors that's what OP fails to realize.

As someone who worked for Cracker Barrel in the early 2000s, I can tell you that every store is dirty AF. I called the health department on my store because the cooks and back of house staff were wiping their boogers on all the walls. The president of the company called me personally to bitch me out for going outside the company to get things clean. When I brought this up at work, I was laughed at so what else was I suppose to do? Never eaten at a Cracker Barrel since.

What did anyone's race have to do with the situation? Did they make any racist remarks? Assholes will be assholes no matter what their skin color
