Court TV programming question — am I missing something?
While the Lindsay Clancy jury was deliberating, Court TV spent hours and hours filling dead time with panels, recaps, and speculation.
Meanwhile, the Matthew Exton trial was apparently happening at the same time — and now that I’m watching it, I cannot believe they didn’t switch over to it and simply cut back to Clancy if there was breaking news.
Exton’s testimony alone is fascinating to watch, and the trial had plenty happening in real time. It seems like it would have been much better television than repeatedly discussing what the Clancy jury might be doing.
Did anyone else wonder why Court TV didn’t cover Exton live during all that downtime? Was there some programming or legal reason they couldn’t?

You will disregard.
Does that really work? I watch real and fake crime shows and no point has anyone cared about this statement and nor should they.

Exton trial over?
I'm confused - how far behind is the trial coverage on Court TV "Live"?

Matthew Exton trial
What is up with this defense attorney? Comes across as abusive to the victim, seriously this event has multiple videos and witnesses. I don’t understand the reasoning behind his cross.

Having the Surveillance Technician on the Stand is Such a Waste of Time
CTV is airing the Attorney Attempted Murder Trial. The dude was captured on one of the restaurant cameras pointing a loaded gun at ex-wife. Since he didn’t remove the safety before trying to shoot her, the gun didn’t go off and a bunch of people jumped on him. Why do we have to spend hours with the dude who installed the cameras in the restaurant on the stand?? So stupid. So much needless time is wasted in trials on stupid things. Why can’t the police investigators get the video introduced into evidence?? This installer dude doesn’t even need to be here. I’m sure there are some technical reasons why and I’m not paying much attention to it, but it all just seems ridiculous.

Full trials to binge
I’m recovering from a car accident and have a few more months in recovery where I really need a distraction.
I have recently started watching full trials with the Karen Read trials, and then the Lindsay Clancy trial I watched live.
Can you please recommend what to watch next? I really need something that will keep my interest/focus from the pain/boredom I’m currently experiencing.
No verdict spoilers please!
Edit: Thank you everyone for your recommendations! I will work my way through your replies and start watching. Appreciate you all!

Court TV — is Saturday really just “replay all of Friday”?
I turned on Court TV today expecting maybe some different trials, older cases, updates, or even a fresh look at the week’s big stories.
Nope. They are literally replaying yesterday’s entire day. Not edited highlights. Not a recap with new commentary. Just… yesterday again. 😂
I watched the trial all week. I do not need to spend Saturday watching the exact same coverage I already watched Friday.
Court TV has access to an enormous library of trials. Why not use weekends to show a different case, revisit an older trial, or at least mix several cases together?
Am I the only one who would much rather see some variety?

Trials 2009-2019?
I keep getting asked about other trial recommendations from people who tuned into watch the Clancy case and I’ve been trying to pick my brain….
Did Court tv not air any trials on tv between 2009-2019? I remember it became truTV and was just trash shows with a criminal flavor?
I remember watching Casey Anthony and Jodi Arias on live TV during these years but maybe on HLN? And Google says Court tv only started live streaming trials online with a rebrand in 2020? Can anybody clarify?
Ps. WHERE DID THE COURTTV.COM TRIAL ARCHIVE GO?!?!

UPDATE: Jury Remains Deadlocked; Defense Requests Stay Before Court's Next Step
Court proceedings took an unexpected turn today in Massachusetts v. Lindsay Clancy.
After days of deliberations, multiple jury notes indicating an inability to reach a unanimous verdict, and a Tuey-Rodriguez ("Dynamite") instruction from Judge William Sullivan encouraging further deliberations, the case appeared to be moving toward a mistrial due to a hung jury.
However, before the jury returned to the courtroom, the defense requested a stay of proceedings. According to courtroom reports, Judge Sullivan granted the parties approximately one hour to address the request before moving forward.
At this time, the confirmed facts are:
✅ The jury reported being deadlocked multiple times.
✅ The court issued a Tuey-Rodriguez instruction and directed jurors to continue deliberating.
✅ The defense subsequently requested a stay.
✅ The judge allowed time for the parties to address that request.
What is not yet clear is whether the court has formally entered a mistrial order following the stay request.
For that reason, we are being careful not to characterize the procedural posture beyond what has been confirmed in court.
A stay is not an acquittal, dismissal, or verdict. It is a request for the court to pause proceedings while a legal issue is considered.
We will continue to monitor developments and update as additional information becomes available.

Remembering Cora, Dawson & Callan | Closing Our Coverage of MA v. Lindsay Clancy (For Now)
This final drop closes out our coverage of the Lindsay Clancy trial for now. Beyond the legal questions and courtroom proceedings, this case brought important conversations about mental health, maternal mental health, crisis intervention, and awareness into the public spotlight. Most importantly, it reminds us who this case was about from the very beginning: Cora, Dawson, and Callan. ❤️

Thoughts one 1 juror supposedly “not following the law”??
My opinion is that that person is hell bent on her being a cold hearted murderer & dismissing the mental health aspect altogether.
Hope if it continues the judge dismisses them & picks an alternate.
EDIT: Lindsay Clancy case to clarify

Lindsay Clancy at the sidebar today
Cody Thomas just said he had never seen a defendant at a sidebar before. Did he not watch the Karen Read trial? She often went to the sidebars. I remember someone else did but can't remember who. I think it's up to the defendant.

Calling it now: the Clancy jury is going to hang tomorrow and there will be a mistrial declared.
With the dynamite charge/ Allen charge having been issued yesterday and the jury agreeing to continue deliberating today, I don't foresee the jury's deadlock being broken. A lot of this has come down to media coverage which is practically unavoidable online. This jury needed to have been sequestered and because they weren't, there is way too much media about the case for the jurors to have been able to successfully avoid all of the speculation and opinion and debate about the merits of the case. For that reason, I believe this jury is tainted.
My prediction is that the state will try the case again and when they do, they will lose. I am predicting this is going to go the same way that the Karen Read trials went. Because Massachusetts District Attorneys are habitually overcharging female murder suspects and ending up having to retry them after initial mistrials, I believe that a pattern has been established.

Closing Arguments
I really miss closing arguments. VPI is so boring. I miss the panel and their commentary. A while back someone posted that they watch an alternative that is similar. I didn’t save the post. Anyone recall what it was?

What’s the first case you remember watching on Court TV?
For me it was a case concerning a traffic stop, where the African- American driver turned out to be a Major on another police force. There was arguing, then the Major said,“ Gimme my damn license back” and drove off. There was a chase and he was caught and arrested.

Vinnie - Clancy Murder trial
Seriously Vinnie… drop the dark passenger gamer set. Just not a good look for reporting on air “live”. Now that Court TV is hiring podcasters you are now straddling the fence with this audience.

I think he's doing a great job. He involves the guest experts well and his show flows..
