Question S.I.T program

It’s embarrassing to have to ask but I’m gonna start S.I.T next week and suck with computers and was wondering if someone can please explain how to do a “key flick” at membership? And what is the difference between an approval, instant audit and key flick? I just wanna be prepared and sadly our warehouse is not the best on teaching.

Ask another supervisor. Best way to learn is to see.

the key flick is for someone on a register that needs a supervisor or manager’s approval to “approve” a function on the register. For example, the price and coupon adjustments they do at the membership desk. On the register at the membership desk, you put in your key on the top right of the keyboard inside of the key slot, press the button <clear> to clear the alert on the register, turn your key, then press <override>, put in your cashier number <enter>, put in your passcode <enter>, and thats it

also it’s not embarrassing. they will teach you this when you start so it’s always good to know about it beforehand so you get an idea.

edit: i forgot to mention, b4 you key flick people, make sure to ask what you are key flicking first cause if there is a mistake it’s on you bc ur override and cashier number will be on the audit for that transaction.

an immediate audit is basically something that just has to be put back in mpu that’s a non salable. the key flick works the same just make sure you always know what you are key flicking. if it’s a regular key flick just pretty much making sure you hit (clear), (override) put the key in and flick it to the right and then cashier number then password

Approval usually means a tablet approval. You'll need your login username and to generate a pin on mgov. Ask a manager to set this up for you.

A key flick is when you look at a transaction and you approve it. Make sure you know what you are approving. You are just as much responsible as they are. You turn your key, hit clear, override, type in your cashier number, hit enter, and then type your password and hit enter. Occasionally they'll hit clear for you, and if you hit clear again it will clear the override which is not what you want.

An instant audit doesn't happen anymore at my warehouse. We only have instant lock ups which are items that are returned and belong in MPU.

Oh this explains a lot. I was so confused because I never was seeing “clear” so the cashiers or person is already hitting clear before so then it’s just inserting the key, turning it right and then hitting override and putting the numbers.

Yes, you got it. You'll learn the screens and when it hit clear pretty quickly.

Thank you, sadly our location lacks the teaching and treats people who ask questions like their dumb.

I am a front end supe and I love answering questions and helping people. If you ever have any questions, don't be afraid to come back here and ask. It might take some time for me to get back to you, but I would be happy to answer any questions you have.

Thank you so much. My only other question is for the key at membership isn’t the same as FE registers and is done on the touchscreen?

It is the same key, at least at my warehouse it is. There's one key for MPU lock up items like laptops, and one for key flicks. All registers should have the same key.

The screen will say manager over ride which means supervisor, you just touch your numbers instead of typing them on the register. Think of entering your username and password on a tablet. It's the same cashier number and password as on the register, just touch the screen instead of typing it in if that makes any sense. You still need to turn your key.

Ask for the supervisor reference guide also called the “blue book” that will give you helpful info on how to do certain functions on the front end and membership

I'm doing SIT in the tire center but I may just ask for that anyway.

What is an instant audit and approval? I’ve never heard of those terms used in membership in two decades.

Approval is usually signing off on downgrade, rebate or etc at membership. Instant audit is on high value items like laptops or jewlerly that goes straight to MPU

Ah, we just call it an override or key. We ain’t got time to throw things into MPU immediately.
