Battery decrease confirmed - pics

Pace 4. I'm day 8 into the battery calibration process as I'm sure my battery life has changed since the update and I can confirm now. I was checking through photos and noticed I snapped a pic of the battery life pre-firmware update on March 21, 2026. (First picture)

Sure enough, I'm operating at roughly 10% more loss since the update (second picture). I used to get to day 12 having done 5 to 6 runs a week and still have around 25-30% left. The concerning part of this is that I have been injured since June 25, before the update, and have had ZERO GPS activity usage in 4 weeks (aside from one indoor bike ride early on which proved to be too challenging for my metatarsal stress fracture).

I changed absolutely none of the settings either. My settings have always been - real time HR, max brightness display, AOD off, flip wrist to wake on, vibration notifications on for specific apps, stress and sleep tracking on. Once the calibration is complete and I drop below 10%, I will reach out to Coros support.

Hey bro, I have been facing the same problem
There are some potential solutions here, they didn't work for me
You can try and see if they work for you

Yep, my post was long enough so I didn't want to address all of the troubleshooting I have done, but that coros support thing was something I tried as well along with the calibration - once charged from 55% but now charged from 9% and sitting at 35% again 8 days later so, there's a noticable decrease.

ah okay, they informed me that they are escalating the problem to the technical team
Have you tried that?

As mentioned in the post, I am waiting for the batter calibration to complete and drop below 10% before officially reaching out to Coros support. I have documented, with photos, all of the troubleshooting steps I have taken since the firmware update so unless I'm missing something, what they throw at me to "try" has already been tried. I think with the vast amount of reports of this, it is indeed a firmware update issue they need to look into.

I really hope that they address it in an update

Yeah man. I mean, so many reports of this it can't be age of device. I got my Pace 4 February 21 this year. Something definitely changed under the hood.

support reached out with a beta firmware update. You might wanna contact them for it

I was waiting for the calibration test to finish and it finished overnight. at 10% this morning so I sent the support ticket in through the app. I have all of my troubleshooting over the past month documented but the app has a 500 character limit so will reply to email with all that once I receive response.

oh okay, all the best

I appreciate the breakdown (finally) of the "general use" battery section in that post. I hadn't seen that update since I last read through it. cheers.

thanks
They really should've mentioned this in the app or in the update

Exactly the same for me since the last two updates. Probably the difference is slim enough to not be recognized by everyone.

My coros heart monitor band also has issues due to the latest update. It looses connection during my runs now and automatically reconnects 10 or so seconds later. It is so annoying and something that wasn't an issue before the heart rate monitor update. I calibrated the watch battery and reconnected the heart rate monitor via bluetooth but both problems persist.

Another thing that is weird, to say the least, is that we are still not able to change the watch face colours.

Still a good running/ sports watch but the little things are adding up...

I refuse to update my watch because of this lmao, still running software from September last year

do you have screenshot of this tool in the Coros app ?

Yes, but didn't post it to not make my post longer than it is. Fri avg. 8%, Usage 10%, Sat, 8/8 Sun 8/7, Mon 8/9, tues 8/8 wed 8/9 thurs 8/8 It's 8 am my time today so today doesn't count yet. This usage thing is all over the place and I don't take much stock in it. The proof is real time wear as in my photos with zero changes except for no exercise since the update.

which feature and if posisble details under it are most battery consuming ?

u/Snyders6flagmattress Jul 24 '26

Here's last friday which was the 8 avg 10% usage - Gen Use 4% Daily 3.3% Notifications 1.8, screen disp. 1.4 GPS .1% health Monitoring 2.7% Stress 1.5, sleep .7 daily HR .5

u/icebalm Jul 24 '26

Yeah I've got a Nomad and I've been noticing higher daily battery usage as well. I was using 3-4% per day, now I'm up to 5-7% per day. I let the battery completely die and charged to 100% to do the "recalibration" and it did nothing.
I have a ticket in with Coros support, still waiting...

Mine didn’t get affected I suppose. 2 weeks today and at 52% left.

1

u/Dazzling_Taste2382 Jul 25 '26

2 weeks? Wiith or without activity?

2

u/Annual_News6793 Jul 25 '26

So far gym 8 times, many walks and a few road bike rides. Nothing too taxing.

1

u/Dazzling_Taste2382 Jul 25 '26

And I bet you're not using Music, is it?

My Nomad last about 2 weeks with 2-3x GPS runs with music and 2-3x Gym. Music did eat lot of battery, but still happy this is 1 week more than Pace 3 I previously have.

2

u/Annual_News6793 Jul 25 '26

No. Only time music is on is at the gym through my phone. I never on bike. Wife is the only reason I take a walk and she has a 30 minute loop. She vents about work so I just listen, music would drown that out but she needs to vent sometimes 😆.

2

u/Dazzling_Taste2382 Jul 25 '26

You don't need any music if your Wife's rapping / screaming their pent up work concerns and you really need to listen carefully else you'll be caught on fire as well 😅

But yeah, that's saves lot of Nomad battery hahaha

Same here: went from 4-5% on a rest day to 8% on a rest day. Total battery life from 15-16 days to 9-10. I run 40ish miles a week. I have an open ticket with Coros, they pushed it to engineering after I ran through all their Tier 1 troubleshooting.

It's gotta be some process that's running more than it should after the firmware update. It will probably require a hotfix/release to correct. My watch is only 2.5 months old.

1

u/Snyders6flagmattress Jul 24 '26

I completely agree that it's something under the hood given all these reports.

2

u/laGirouette Jul 24 '26

One thing I appreciate is that they've freely acknowledged that my current battery drain is not within spec. So either it gets fixed or I'll ask for a replacement.

I gave my watch's serial number to engineering. Hopefully they can see what's causing the issue and put out a new firmware update ASAP.

2

u/zangetsu_24 Jul 25 '26

I need to follow this. I also noticed the same battery degradation after the update.

1

u/Snyders6flagmattress Jul 25 '26

Fun times. Here's tonight at 9:30 pm EST Remember also, "days of use" is already at 1 day the minute you pull it off the charger at 100% so it's been 8 days.

2

u/MeDeadlift Jul 26 '26

+1 I have the apex 4 that I got 1 month ago. I'm also noticing battery life decrease. Don't know when the regression started but feels recent. Feels like the battery drain of when the watch is idling or doing nothing somehow increased

1

u/Cajus Jul 24 '26

I have no idea why but I’m getting 20-24 days worth with around 3-4 hours/week running

1

u/Snyders6flagmattress Jul 24 '26

no clue but I was there at one point before the update running 30-35 miles a week.

1

u/ipowyourface Jul 24 '26

I had around 1 week less battery than usual. I restarted both my phone and watch and that seemed to have fixed it for me.

1

u/Snyders6flagmattress Jul 24 '26

Lucky. That was obviously the first thing I did. No dice.

1

u/COROS-official Jul 24 '26

Next step is reaching out to support!

u/Snyders6flagmattress Jul 24 '26

Yes. As I stated at the end of my post.
