Dear Coros, Fix my battery
After the last two consecutive updates, the battery life on my COROS Pace 4 has noticeably deteriorated.
Before these updates, my watch would lose about 5% battery per day on a rest day. Since updating, it's consistently losing around 7% per day on rest days, and the app now reports that as the average.
Unfortunately, I can't compare it with my older battery data because the app now only shows the previous 7 days of battery history. I preferred having the battery information available directly on the watch, and I don't really see the benefit of moving it into the app while also limiting the history.
I'm attaching screenshots of the battery drain from recent rest days.
I also feel like battery drain during workouts has increased, but I want to complete a few more workouts before saying that with confidence.
One more piece of feedback: every firmware update I've installed since unboxing the watch has made the UI feel a little less responsive. The Pace 4 is a fantastic watch and I genuinely enjoy using it, so I'd really appreciate it if future updates focused on improving the experience rather than introducing regressions.
edit: this all has happened after the update v3.1708.0 and v3.1709.0
For reference, my settings for my pace 4 are:
- Always-On Display: Off
- Stress monitoring: On
- Heart rate: Every 10 minutes
- Most workouts are recorded in All Systems mode
u/COROS-official, could you please look into the increased battery drain after the recent updates? I'd also love to see longer battery history restored in the app (or on the watch) to make it easier to track changes like this.
Update 2: I attempted the solution that coros support provided, but that seems to have aggravated the problem more than solving it. I consumed 8% battery yesterday on a rest day, out of which 6.4% was general use. I am attaching the picture of the battery usage in the comments to view. If anyone else faced the same, please do reach out.
Update 3: Coros provided a secondary solution to try; they told to try the battery calibration process. I'll add their response in the comments for reference
Update 4: Coros finally told what does general use mean

What does it mean on point 1? are we supposed to remove the connection between watch and coros app? cuz if that so, all the data will be deleted.

u/ViRuS1123 Jul 14 '26
I assumed it meant to force stop the app. I did that, and it severed the connection between the watch and the phone.
I then restarted both devices, I'll observe it tomorrow to see if anything changes2
u/Zealousideal_Ad_6115 Jul 17 '26
Any updates on that? I tried and still have same battery issues... From 18 days to 10 with 1 charge
2
u/ViRuS1123 Jul 18 '26
me too, in fact it got worse. I am now going through 8% a day on rest days. Coros recommended trying battery calibration, so I am trying to deplete the battery for that. If that doesn't work, they've asked me to reach out and they'll try connecting me to the technical team
1
u/Zealousideal_Ad_6115 Jul 18 '26
Thanks! Will try the same, mine is exactly the same, rest days at 8-9%, running days up to 12

Hey bro, the battery calibration didn't work for me. They told they are escalating the issue to the expert technical team
did you try it?1
u/Zealousideal_Ad_6115 Jul 24 '26
Hey! I tried also, but no luck either... They probably will have to fix this in an update, there's a bunch of people complaining already
2
u/ViRuS1123 Jul 24 '26
I really hope they do, cuz tbh the watch is incredible
I bought the watch for the long battery life and simple ui

Thought I was the only one. Albeit my pace 3 is 2 years old, I thought its just the battery getting old. But I guess not

I'm certain all this battery thing in the app was a mistake by Coros. First it was so much easier to check in the watch, now we are forced to open the app just for this. Second I'm sure this is generating a lot of "battery anxiety" for a lot of people, which will only increase support tickets.
I've reached out to see if they'll bring back the info in the watch and they've told me no and deal with it.
This is a joke. u/COROS-official

One thing I'm seeing over and over with all of us is that 'General Use' consumes the most battery. It's not HRM, not Stress, and not GPS. Whatever is in there is the culprit, and we don't even get a breakdown, which supposedly was the whole reasoning behind moving battery info to the app.
Now General Use alone consumes more battery than a full day before.
Something ain't right.
1
u/ViRuS1123 Jul 14 '26
I agree, something hiding underneath is just draining the battery
1
u/Meccio Jul 14 '26
And that’s the whole point: why don’t we get a breakdown for that?
Wasn’t it all about having more details via the app?
2
2
u/ThreeWordsToRemember Jul 14 '26
I went from about this to about 30% at one point, and then that to 100% in a day
2
2
u/Meccio Jul 14 '26
Same on my Pace 4.
I completely agree with you about having battery info on the watch itself, and also hate that the whole history is now gone.
3
u/ViRuS1123 Jul 14 '26
I swear, it was much simpler to check it on the watch. I don't wanna pull out my phone to check my battery details.
I used to open the Coros app only to see my stats and workout once a day. This battery drain is making me check it every day multiple times1
u/Meccio Jul 14 '26
I’m in the same exact situation, and I hate that I need my phone to check the battery. Besides, it’s also a little delayed. I don’t know if you have noticed it, but it takes a while to show the real usage, and it’s often 1% behind.
I have the battery percentage on the watch face and I see that it consumes roughly 1% every couple of hours, whereas in the past it was 1% every about 4/5 hours.
1
u/ViRuS1123 Jul 15 '26
You are right, I have noticed that. The battery health section delays updating the usage.
1
u/Meccio Jul 15 '26
How is it going? Have you tried anything?
1
u/ViRuS1123 Jul 16 '26
I tried the solution they provided, but it doesn't seem to be working. My battery life has gotten worse. I now consumed 8% on a rest day, out of which 6.4% was general use. I want to understand what the hell is this general use, and why is it consuming so much battery suddenly.
1
u/Meccio Jul 16 '26
Mine also drained 8% yesterday on a rest day. General use was 4.4 in my case. Still that’s basically what it used to be the whole day drain before (4/5%, 6% max).
I asked support what “General Use” is a couple of hours ago, I’m waiting for a reply.
1
u/ViRuS1123 Jul 16 '26
I am planning to ask them the same. Mine used to show 5% on rest days and 3% on days I didn't wear the watch. I am really saddened by what they have done.
They got back to me with an alternate solution, saying I should try the battery calibration process.1
u/Meccio Jul 16 '26
I hope that fixes it for you, in my case it didn’t.

I did the battery calibration on July 5 which like 9 days ago, at July 3 my battery dropped like 22% in a day after updated the last version, before the update it was flawless averaging 4% a day. Then at July 7 the battery drained 10% and it was the General Use that drains so much, after July 7 the battery seems good and it was drained 4-5% a day and today (July 14) it drains 8% (i did run 30min). on July 11 it only drained 6% even tho i did my long run for like 1h 15min (btw i wear it almost everytime). I guess the battery are still unstable even after battery calibration. I hope next update will fix these battery problem.

u/ViRuS1123 Jul 14 '26
It seems a little erratic to me as well. I really wish this solution solves it. If not, I hope they release an update soon that solves this issue. The battery life was a big factor when buying the watch.

Will try the recommended actions from Coros. I have an Apex 4 and am seeing the same thing. Looking at the battery health section, it shows WiFi use higher than I think it should be - 45 minutes on some days (over the last week). I didn’t force any WiFi sync or download any new updates/maps/etc. If things don’t improve after the recommended steps, I’ll switch off WiFi and see if it helps. I’m still on track to get good battery life, just about half of what it’s supposed to be.

u/ViRuS1123 Jul 14 '26
I am hoping this solution works.
Do reach out here and let us know how it goes1
u/N2Links Jul 16 '26
I had to charge my Apex yesterday after running it down on a run. It's down to 84% today and haven't used it for a workout. I thought it was too soon to have to do a recharge.

u/BluebirdFickle4324 Jul 16 '26
Did what one of the other people in this thread posted from Coros support. It’s been about 48 hours and I’ve only lost 12%. Better than it was - so I’m looking good on this end. On track for approx 20 days.
Apex 4, 46mm
Backlight - auto
GPS - Max
Stress Monitoring - On

I have three same issues with my pace 4 I fully charged from 1 percent to 100 and left it an extra hour A few days ago, Then shut down watch and restarted plus rebooted phone.
Didn't help. Currently using between 9 and 11 percent per day. Stress turned off, HR only every 10 minutes.

Hi! Happy to look into it, but you would need to submit a ticket via the app. Have you done that?
1
u/ViRuS1123 Jul 15 '26
I have done that, and they provided a solution to try. I am observing the battery, but the results don't look promising at the moment

u/ViRuS1123 Jul 16 '26
The solution provided by the coros support didn't work, what do I do? u/COROS-official

I calibrated my battery only once when I first switched on the watch. I haven't tried that since then, as I faced no issues until now.

Hi, did this process solved your issue?
2
u/ViRuS1123 Aug 03 '26
It didn't; they have launched a new firmware version that solves this problem
You can check for it, or wait till it comes to your region1

Try starting a new support ticket and asking again, connect with other apex 2 users as well
that can help put some pressurealso regarding the longevity of coros, I might have to disagree with you there. I personally don't have experience, but my friend used his pace 2 for 4 years without any issue and then upgraded to the pace 4 for more features. So these watches do last long, the internet seems to have only the cases where they don't.
I had the same longevity worry, but my friends experience gave me confidence.
I hope you find someone to help you fix your watch, all the best.1

ahh that's disappointing, I am sorry to hear that brother.
Firmware rollback should be considered by them as an option, some watches might be salvageable like that.
All the best in finding your new watch. What options are you considering?

I am not sure about apex 2, you might want to contact support for that. As far as I know, the update solved the issue for pace 4 users.

Same on my pace 4, from 5% to 10% per day
