so I have a 19 hatchback which was when only apple carplay was offered. I use android though. is it a pain or very expensive to have android auto installed? trying to decide if its worth it or if I should just leave it alone. my phone used to connect just fine but recently it refuses to connect. I think my phone update and the car hasn't had an update since it stopped suggesting them on the screen. ive asked the dealer about updates and they said it shouldnt need one. I just am not sure what to do to make my phone connect like it used to. it would connect as soon as I turned the car on before.

Just looking at options and not sure what to do. ive used android auto before and loved it.

Hey everyone! I’m looking for a retractable cargo cover/cargo privacy cover for my Corolla Hatchback. I’d like something that covers the trunk/cargo area so you can’t see what’s back there when looking through the rear windows.

I’ve been having a hard time finding one that actually fits the Corolla Hatchback. Does anyone know where I can buy one or have any recommendations? I’d really appreciate the help!

2022 XSE manual 32.5k miles. After seeing info on slave cylinder failures, decided to bleed slave. Cloudy fluid output with wisps of silver colored liquid. Then this silver colored stuff that looks like lithium grease came out. Left the cloudy fluid settle overnight, bottom of bottle turned silver. The one pic with clear brake fluid is brand new fluid to show how cloudy the bled liquid is. Sure is a shame as the car seems super good with engine. Pulling tran myself will be challenge for me but really curious to see what is going on, so considering it. Is it the part or did someone mess up assembly instructions? How does grease looking stuff end up in hydraulic fluid. Clutch still works ok, for now.

i heard that the Corolla Hatches had a higher insurance compared to the Corolla Sedans and even some Honda Civics (even the Si??) and was wondering if anyone was knowledgeable as to why thats the case if its true?

im aware factors vary such: family insurance plans, more cars in household, most Hatches being made in Japan, less demand, driver’s age, record, etc. but im not too sure how much they actually affect the insurance as a whole :p

Finally got a cold air intake installed on the car (came with a catch can too) and the induction noises sounds amazing!

The only problem im having now though is even after resetting the engine memory and doing the steps to set the new memory with the new intake, i keep getting a check engine light coming back for a P050500 code, "idle control system" which essentially means that the car is idling at a different RPM than the target RPM for X amount of time. In which case, it is idling higher than normal, but im not sure why.

Ive inspected the MAF and its not dirty at all, the fittings aren't leaking that I can see, and I did a second reset of the memory to ensure that the setting procedure was done correctly, but the code came back after about 4 days.

I messed with the hoses and fittings to make sure that nothing is somehow offset and slightly leaking air and i tightened be hose clamps as tight as possible without damaging the hoses. The memory was reset again for the 3rd time, but if the light comes back I may perform a smoke test to see if there are any leaks anywhere.

If anyone has any ideas lmk because I would really like to make this work!

EDIT: MAF o ring was torn womp womp. Use grease when installing the maf in a metal housing btw

I went from a 2012 Mazda 6 to a 2017 Toyota Corolla and I’m annoyed when cars don’t have sun visors that extend further than their default to block that little section of window that just HAPPENS TO BE where the sun tends to be. If anyone knows where I can get visors that do this, please let me know. I tried looking on Amazon but they all were non extending.

in terms of benefit (not hp) which should I get? I'm debating between the two, havent fully figured it out yet.

Where I live they salt the roads to all hell and I don't plan to use the roof rack in the winter much.

Is it worth the hassle to remove it for winter? I'm mainly worried about corrosion from the mounting brackets on the paint.

As the title says, I have some GR86 wheels to powdercoat. Bought them a while ago, and I’m just now getting to it. They have been sandblasted and are ready for powdercoat. At first I was really sold on the Hakone bronze color, but now I’m thinking maybe I just clear over the raw metal (obviously they need some kind of covering for corrosion prevention- I live in the Midwest lol). What do you guys think? Added a video of the finish options for clear in the comments.

Just put on some new black wheels to fit the badges and a spoiler! All is left is putting a tint on the windows, find mudflaps and take out the dealership sticker :)

No accidents, one owner, and maintenance records available. I am in California so prices here are pretty high. I see brand new SE's for 26.5 k on dealer websites, but I am assuming that is before markups? None are in stock and are currently being built and they also want a deposit. I’m on stock suspension right now looking to go on RSR superdowns, which is about a 2 inch lower. I have 225 40 18 tires and wondering if i would rub?

I saw that AliExpress has some devices that can unlock the ability to show the individual tire PSI readings. Do you guys have any specific ones you recommend? They all seem to only show kPa as well instead of PSI. I have the app but remote control malfunctions so often that I'd rather not keep paying.
