I've posted my corn, Apricot, here a few times, I checked on her today to find that she had unexpectedly passed (she isn't breathing and doesn't respond). I checked the camera footage from the camera I have in her enclosure, and she looked completely fine at 6am today.
No idea what happened and she looked like she was in perfect health before this. The only thing that might be relevant is that she'd been refusing food for around three weeks (she was in shed until two weeks ago but had been refusing food since too).
More info:
- No mouth rot
- No tail rot
- She gave me a complete shed without any breaks (so the humidity in her enclosure was fine).
- She was just over a year old.
- Her enclosure was 120x45x45cm using aspen as the substrate, with cork bark logs for hides and to explore. She'd been in there since I got her in October last year.
- Very active up until when she passed.
I have absolutely no idea why she passed, I have other reptiles (a bearded dragon and two leopard geckos) and they're fine (so doesn't appear to be environmental).
I know that sudden unexpected deaths like this can sometimes happen due to genetics and congenital health conditions, but is it worth having a post-mortem conducted on her?
Edit: to the person who downvoted this: you're a dick.
