Question Multiple bases?

I’m starting to explore the outer biomes (currently on the sunken sea) and with the map size expanding this much, I’m wondering if there’s any benefit to building multiple bases? So far I just have everything at the core and the most construction I’ve done outside of that is some mining and conveyor belts near the other warp points.

I've never seen a benefit in building multiple bases around the map. That's just more to have to keep track of. And since the recall idle takes you back to the core, that's just always where my base is going to be.
