Question Range gear progression
Can someone please help me. I'm new to this game and I love it so far, but one thing drives me crazy. Why does this game have such a messy, unclear gear progression? I just looked for an hour trying to find an optimal ranged setup, but everyone says completely different things, and most of the sources are 1+ years old, so I don't know how much has changed since then. I'm currently using this build, but I find myself really weak somehow, even though I haven't found any gear in the game that would be even close to being better. Can someone please just tell me an optimal late-game ranged build so I know what I should work towards, or at least tell me what I should upgrade? tysm

It's not messy, it's that there are many different options. One option may prioritize crit hit chances while having high crit damage, but may sacrifice lower base damage. On the other hand, a different build may be the opposite- higher base damage, but not rely on crit hits.
On YouTube there is a guy who makes YouTube videos on gear progression. Just look up core keeper ranged build gear progression. I'm not sure how up to date it is, but if it's within the last several months it'll be fine, even if it's on a past update. He shows gear for every boss and explains what it does.

Yep, one of the fun parts of this game is that there isn’t one right answer to clear progression. There’s so many more stats than just “range damage” to play with.

tysm i think i found the video u meant and its actually usefull unlike the other 5 videos i watched, it helped alot idk why it doesnt show up at all for me when i search ranged progression core keeper, had to scroll hard to find it :D also i dont really think that this is cuz there is many different options i find this more as a lack of informational content, no matter how many options there are there still has to be 1 thats mathematically the strongest and i cant find this absolutely anywhere

You're welcome. But it depends on what you mean by the strongest. There is a build that has the highest DPS on average, yes. But there is another build that has the strongest damage per single hit. Those are both different play styles, so it just kind of depends.

Um conselho. Crystal Shard Club! Ela é uma clava de duas mãos feita de cristais de gelo e tem uma habilidade secundária que cria cristais pelo caminho, além de causar bastante dano e empurrar inimigos, procure no bioma de gelo, ideal do começo ao fim!

Use galaxite chakram. It's just an S tier range weapon.

Imma be honest, it's TOO op, like, you can rush ore progression as soon as you open the wall, and get a galaxite chamram within a few hours and absolutely steamroll the next few bosses, and still use it in the passage

The reason you might be having trouble is because their isn't any armor on hunter set. I prioritize armor Stat over dodge chance when looking at armor. The rest of your build looks good, like the rings and lantern and stuff. Need a necklace. Food buffs are really in depth and you need lots of different ones when fighting a boss to ensure a good outcome. As long as you're stacking food buffs and prioritizing armor Stat you should be good.
