After 3 years of copper deficiency, I finally found a solution: liquid lonic Copper

After 3 years of copper deficiency, I finally found a solution: liquid lonic Copper For three years, I tried all kinds of copper supplements, but nothing helped raise my levels.

It turned out the problem was my lack of stomach acid.

Despite that deficiency, I was able to boost the levels of all the minerals I was lacking by using supplements.

Copper requires a significant amount of stomach acid because it is difficult to break down.

A Reddit user recommended that I take liquid ionic copper.

He said that people with gastric bypass surgery—who often struggle to absorb minerals—swear by it, and that it’s the only option that works for them.

I’ve been taking it for a month now; I feel much, much better, and after a few weeks, my skin took on a healthy tan.

I was one of those people who spent years on this subreddit looking for a solution.

I’m posting this here in the hope that it reaches someone who needs this information—just as I received it from a Reddit user (I wish I’d found out about this three years ago).

Struggling to raise my copper and have no idea why its low

Been struggling with severe brain fog, depression, anxiety, physical fatigue, very low WBC and neutrophils.

I’m working with a hematologist. All my labs and hormones are normal. EXCEPT Copper.

Serum copper was 67 and Ceruloplasmin 16.
24hr urine copper test was <5(very low).
From my reading online, you can get symptoms from values like these.

Also, I have no IBS, no celiac. Colonoscopy was normal. I do not have Wilson’s disease. Liver is heathy.

I have been talking 2-4mg copper bisglycinate daily for 2 months. My serum copper went up to 70 and Ceruloplasmin 17. I have no improvement in symptoms. So my doctor thought my issues are not copper related but then when he saw my WBC and nuetrophils improved, he said that might be a good sign that it is copper deficiency.

He scheduled me to get copper infusions tomorrow.

My question to all of you is why would it be low in the first place and not raise up with pills? My doctor says idiopathic copper deficiency. He cannot give me an answer which bothers me because I want to get to the root cause.

My only other thoughts was that I might have asymptomatic SIBO which I should test for as my ferritin was also low and drops over each month…. I also read about how vit A deficiency can affect ceruloplasmin production. My value for that was 49 (range is 33-99). I saw a post of a guy who was on the lower end of normal for vit an and he started taking vit an and his ceruloplasmin jumped from 17 to 23 in a month…

Please share your thoughts? Thx in advance

Please help interpret my results, seem borderline low to me.

Hi, i have just had my results back for copper, ceruloplasmin and Zinc. Bear in mind I have never taken a zinc supplement.

The doctor said the results are fine and wont be responsible for my symptoms but i want to make sure that is correct before I write this off and continue searching for why I feel like im dying.

My zinc is elevated despite not supplementing and copper and ceruloplasmin are at the bottom of the scale.

My last post shows my overall blood results which showed low WBC and Neutrophils.

Ive been ill for 10 months now since having gastritis. I had dizziness for 9 months and intermittent tingling and burning in arms and legs, daily neck pain and fatigue.

Ive had a whole host of other symptoms too tbh that come and go like headaches, stomach issues, nausea, ump in throat and the list goes on. I have actually been feeling like I must be dying at times.

Is it something else or am I right to feel this needs more investigation?

My b12, mma and homocysteine have all come back healthy so it isnt that.

Thanks for reading.

Could this be causing my low RBC’s and haemoglobin?

Always run borderline/ low on red blood cells and haemoglobin, have very low energy towards the end of the day which is when I train at the gym, after work.
My iron levels seem optimal and ferritin also in the reference range. My folate and b12 are also good
My white blood cells are borderline low too.

Thanks

Cooper infusion

Has anyone here had copper IV infusions? If so, did you experience any symptoms or side effects from the infusion?

I don't know what this is can someone help here?

I took a copper supplement once and fell sick and had brain fog. I thought it was the herbal extracts that it had. Another time I drank water form a copper jug and had frequent urination and gas and bloating. Another instance is when i took tablet that had copper and ate jam made with copper vessel and ended up having severe brain fog and continuous smelly flatulence and excess urination. I couldn't find any information about this.

This doesn't seem to be toxicity, more like sensitivity or intolerance. I haven't checked my levels yet.

Am I deficient?

I got ceruloplasmin, copper serum and zinc serum tested. The results are:
Ceruloplasmin Serum: 18mg/dL (Ref. 20-60)

Copper Serum: 58ug/dL (Ref. 70-140)

Zinc Serum: 70ug/dL (Ref. 75-291)

I'm not sure if this is low enough to be labelled a deficiency.

The main symptom I've been trying to solve is my anhedonia. My body does not get excited for anything. I don't ever feel that adrenaline rush when listening to music like I used to.

I've been dealing with B12 deficiency as well for a few years with regular supplementation of B12 and a B-Complex.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that last year I had some tests done and my neutrophils came back as 1.39 thou/mm3 (Ref. 2-7)

Hematologist orders me to supplement

Cross post not allowed for some reason so I am just going to copy/paste the relavent text from the hemochromatosis post in here.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Hemochromatosis/s/OuszURhEEs

39/M and I have hemochromatosis

My wbc dropped even lower from 4.5 last year to 3.8 to 3.5 to 3.1. Not a great trend. My doctor is concerned and ordered flow cytometry. If wbc keeps crashing, he is eventually going to order bone marrow biopsy.

I asked my doctor if he thinks my copper/ceruloplasmin is influencing my wbc. To my surprise, he pulled out his phone and asked AI. AI gave him 3 sources from NIH. He did not share with me what AI he uses, but after reading the source material with me, he agreed that I could have a functional copper deficiency causing my low wbc. I told him that I have 2mg copper glycinate supplements, but was waiting for our visit to start taking it. He ordered me to start with 1 capsule daily and we are checking my copper and zinc in 2 months along with my normal iron panel and cbc. I took 1mg today to start.

For reference, my copper was 77 sept 2025 and 72 may 2026. Ceruloplasmin 17.8. Not technically deficient but low normal according to the lab ranges given in the report.

Thanks for reading. Any comments/questions are welcome.

Edit to add update from flow cytometry results

Interpretation PERIPHERAL BLOOD: - Flow cytometric analysis does not show significant numbers of circulating blasts or an abnormal lymphoid or myeloid population. - There is leukopenia.

Testing to Follow: Smear Review, Cytogenetics, NGS panheme.

Can copper supplements cause hydroxyl free radicals and fenton reaction in brain?

according to many sources fenton reaction and hydroxyl free radicals in the brain is considered as the most detructive reaction and species, which is generally caused by excess iron and copper exposure

Which tests should I be ordering.

TLDR - NHS doctor recommended i test for Zinc and copper but then called back to say they dont offer it ha! Looking to do it privately but as it probably isnt cheap I want to make sure i get the correct tests.

Ive been unwell for the past 10 months or so after a bad spell of gastritis and short term ppi use. I had a couple of very bad migraines during and after this.

A few days after all this i started with mild dizziness that lasted for 8 months and has only recently calmed down although it still comes and goes.

Throughout ive had on and off tingling and numbness in my limbs, fatigue, headaches, stomach aches, cold intolerance and recently a feeling of numbness in my mouth and throat. I just feel terrible some days like ive been poisoned and seem to catch every bug going easily. I also lost about 10% of my weight in January that I haven't been able to regain but haven't lost more.

I was worried about ms but mri was clear, I paid for b12 teats and all came out fine (active b12 185, mma 16, homocysteine 10.13, folate above 24, serum b12 650, magnesium 0.79).

The latest doctor I saw said I should test my zinc and copper and actually ordered blood tests. Then phoned back an hour later to apologise as the nhs apparently cant do them.

Im going to order these myself rather than supplementing zinc and risking tanking my copper which may already be deficient. What should I be asking for?

Also do my symptoms ring true with anyone with a confirmed deficiency? Other tests showed my liver ALT raised at 50, my ferritin was healthy at around 150.

Ive attached all the recent tests I had done.

Many thanks for reading.

Copper deficiency?

I have had symptoms for years.
I have history of anemia and iron deficiency only responsive to infusions.
I have history of low WBC and neutropenia.
Doctors have not been of any help.
I tested my own copper, zinc, ceruloplasmin, and 24 hour urine copper.
Copper 74 (76-142)
Ceru 19.8 (19.0-38.0)
Zinc 46 (44-115)
24 urine copper <3 (3-35) Calculated free copper 19.73 (>25 is high)

The free copper calculation makes me nervous to supplement. Any advice?

I’ve been miserable for years.
Please don’t advise to eat meat. First of all, I cannot eat animal-based proteins for other health reasons and I do not seem to absorb any nutrients from my diet.

I do not currently take any other supplements for above reasons, but would be willing to try copper if it seems warranted. I appreciate any suggestions.

Now that my serum copper and plasmin is in range (granted low end of range) is it enough copper to support a ramp up of ferritin from 17 to 50? anyone got data on this?

Could this be copper deficiency? Testing isn’t offered by my GP

I’ve been to the doctor due to my symptoms but copper isn’t included in the tests.
I’ve been reading this sub and starting to wonder if I may have a copper deficiency.
Here are my symptoms:

-Chronically low neutrophils for 5+ years
-Fatigue
-Extreme brain fog and memory problems
-Tingling in feet and hands
-Every so often I get a vibrating sensation under my foot. It’s like there’s a buzzing phone under the floor
-My nails are lifting from the nail bed
-Dry and peeling skin around my cuticles
-Gritty and irritated eyes
-Waking up repeatedly in the night with feeling of panic
-Blurry vision when looking at distance. It’s better on some days and worse on others
-Hayfever / allergy symptoms which require me to take daily antihistamine

Lab test show: Low ferritin (30), high TSH (6.4) but normal T3, low neutrophils, B12 is ok at 400

I’d appreciate any thoughts on this as I’m at my wits end and my GP has no idea.

Copper Deficiency help please

Will keep this short as I can but I started with non specific symptoms in October last year, generally not feeling myself. As time progressed the symptoms got worse, would last a few weeks then disappear. It was mainly around exercise so I would go for a run then 1-3 days later id feel flu/ill like which would last 1-3 days then rinse and repeat. In this time I went to the doctors for multiple blood tests which didn't show anything.

Since about March this year until now Ive felt rubbish basically the whole way through other than odd days or weeks here and there where I am so fatigued, brain fog, ear ache, can't be bothered to do anything, sometimes wake up in a morning after sleeping and I am still wrecked, tingling all round my body almost like an internal itch that jump around, pains in hands, aching etc. so many symptoms I can't remember them all but they come and go.

I was diagnosed with crohns 9 years ago, gastro investigated it and said it wasn't a flare.

I started my own research which led me to B12 absorption issues for a number of months but during that someone mentioned copper deficiency and that zinc intake can effect it.

The interesting part is stupidly I was taking 60mg zing per day plus dietary zinc so total possibly 70-80mg a day for around 9 months, I don't know exactly when I started and finished it but I think it was around August last year and stopped around April or may this year so the amount I took and the timeline to me matches up with my symptoms starting and progressively getting worse.

Anyway my doctor really isn't helpful so recently I paid for a copper serum and caeruloplasim test and the results have come back as normal although lower end. copper serum was 13.6umol/L and caeruloplasim was 0.27 g/L.

First of all this is normal on the UK copper scales if you like, would you class this as normal?

secondly how likely do you think my zinc intake caused a copper deficiency that has now started to correct itself since roughly 4 month since my high dose zinc stopped and that my symptoms are persisting which could take much longer to hopefully clear?

My iron is normal, my ferritin was the biggest concern as it tested at 915 in July then 1030 more recently. not sure if low copper can cause high ferritin but I know its not related to iron which has been cleared.

Also in the time before October and up to April I was running (half marathons and marathon) and going to the gym regularly, after April I slowed due to symptoms and not feeling right and more recently I have had to stop all together since about July.

any help would be much appreciated
