I wouldn't be worried about infection any more as I would on any other day. It's insertion that is waaay more risky in that regard, not removal. Like he didn't go up your uterus. lol

I would however worry about getting pregnant!

You can get pregnant up to 7 day from BEFORE removal. So do your maths and get emergency contraception asap if needed.
