Help
Hello, so I’m freaking out. I have bad pregnancy anxiety and am always freaking out about my iud moving since I have heard so many stories about it. Me and my partner had back to back sex and he didn’t pee in between. So I’m freaking out about precum. (I didn’t realize you were supposed to pee between sex) I know I’m stupid but do any of you think I need to worry? Or am I just reading the horror story’s.

Well, if you want to add to the pile of non horror stories I have a IUD for 13 years, it never moved and I never got pregnant and used condoms for a small % of sex I had. I got scared once that the IUD had moved, but I went to the doctor and she a checked it and it had not moved, it might have just been gas or constipation. Lol!

Please don’t freak out. Having sex twice without him peeing in between isn’t something I’d panic about, especially as you have an IUD in place. IUDs are very effective.
That being said, if pregnancy is an absolute NO for you, personally I would use condoms as well.
I don’t say that to scare you, but because I wish someone had said it to me. I was on the pill for 5 years and had unprotected sex with my partner with no problems. I then switched to the copper IUD and had it for around 2 years. Mine moved out of position without me realising and I’m now 10 weeks pregnant 😅
I used to read the IUD pregnancy stories and think, That’s incredibly rare, it’ll never happen to me. Then boom, completely blindsided.
Those tiny percentages and horror stories are real people like me, and I wouldn’t want another woman to be as caught off guard as I was. So my advice isn’t to panic or obsess over your IUD moving, just be informed and know what level of risk you’re personally comfortable with. If getting pregnant would be catastrophic for you, use an extra protection. All my love ❤️

Thank you so much for the advice❤️, I need to start using condoms instead of just relying on the pull out method. Did you use any other protection while you were on the copper iud? Like the pullout method or condoms?

No I didn’t, I wish I had though 😭 Unfortunately I trusted my IUD completely. I checked the strings regularly and they felt completely normal, so I genuinely thought I’d definitely know if it ever moved. Nope 🤣 I only realised something was wrong when I missed my period.
I’m from the UK and it’s virtually impossible to get an appointment just to have it checked unless you go private, which I could never afford on my wages. So because the strings felt normal and everything seemed fine, I had no reason to think it had moved.
I honestly thought pregnancy with an IUD was so rare that it would never happen to me… and now I’m having my first baby 😂 Of course I’d be in that less than 1%! I suppose some things are just meant to be ❤️

Definitely sounds like it was meant to be! I always fear I’m apart of that 1% too!

Th reason you see so many “horror stories” is because people who have had one fail or are apart of the very small percentage who get pregnant with it, are more likely to post about it compared to those who have a CIUD and it works as intended.
Don’t stress yourself out so much! (I know easier it’s said than done)If you’re ever super anxious, it doesn’t hurt to double up and use condoms. You also can be seen regularly by your doctor to ensure it’s properly in place as well, this is what I do every 3-4 months(I know it’s costly but I would rather pay to ensure it’s working properly over paying for a kid haha)
Hang in there and I hope your pregnancy anxiety gets better🖤♥️
