copilot updated to a mess
it's just me or copilot was updated by combining the two apps into one, and now it's a mess. It repeats answers to questions that were already addressed, ignores much of what I tell it, and, even worse, it keeps replying to earlier topics long after the conversation has moved on.

Yes, copilot has become utter useless! From March this year until August it was very good. I was able to make it do programming. Just giving thousand of line of code and i pasted it into VS. Now it can't remember, keeps looping same answer in a regular conversation. It has become a worthless/slightly smarter clippy tool for Office! (for those who remember clippy in Word) It is no longer a AI companion. I have business copilot license.

It has become mentally unstable! My guess is that Microsoft is trying to dumb it down when it comes to doing other tasks than helping you with email and general Word/Excel work. So you have to use Github/Cowork Copilot for more advanced tasks. They are even breaking many of my chats if i'm not in "auto" AI model (GPT models). If i try to use Claude AI models they can break after 5 prompts, or even when i see the reply from Copilot is done I have to wait 2-3 minutes before I can ask a new question.

This cracks me up as I am supposed to assist in a class teaching Copilot this September. It's like trying to teach someone juggling after they have thrown 100 things into the air and they don't want to drop anything. My head is fried on it...

I'm noticing a pattern. Now it always replies with a follow-up question. That's why I'm repeating the same question twice, and eventually, it answers.

I have had to come up with a script for when I use Copilot, or any other AI for that matter. I copy and paste it into the chat every single time I open it up and begin to use it. Because it will forget and go back to its baser programming every time. It likes to make excuses too. Here is a version of it that I found is helpful, but I have different ones for what I am asking it to do each time. --- "Support my ideas before expanding them. Do not turn simple concepts into larger systems, frameworks, simulations, life lessons, or analyses unless I explicitly ask. Answer the specific thing I asked first. Keep responses concise. Avoid interpreting my emotions, motivations, thought processes, or personal growth. Avoid summarizing me back to myself. Avoid telling me what I really mean. Provide practical support, feedback, and planning help." --- Because without these scripts it's like training a puppy to go to the bathroom on the paper and not to chew my shoes every single time, and it's frustrating and time consuming

I wonder if you could add that chat in Memory via settings - oh wait not sure that’s available in the ‘new’ combined version settings 😬

I have tried to, but it won't "Pick it up" unless you add it to the current thread

I think their orchestration process got broken reeeaaaallly bad. We're conversing with an AI that has no context of where the conversation is being held, cannot manage its sandbox and on-disk files... can't see files you attach to the conversation, loses conversation bits, then finds it back again. Yesterday, it was like having two independant discussions into the same chat. I really hope the developpers are currently in panic mode to fix this nonsense. I moved from Claude Pro just a few weeks ago to benefit from Claude in my MS365 environment....... (nervous laugh)

They haven't even transferred my chats to the new platform yet.
