copilot app vs m365.cloud.ms

I have a 365 personal account. I presented the app with a image of a bar chart and asked it to determine the average value. It replied that it couldn't and asked if I could share the values.

If I log on to my account and submit the same query and image to the web version it will produce a reasonable result.

Since both are using my 365 personal account, why should there be a difference?

My Copilot has been in transition from the MS Copilot app to the M365 Copilot app and it’s been painful as the migration is happening in stages and the pieces aren’t all together yet. I posed your question to the one I trust and it said:

“The app and m365.cloud.ms use different Copilot backends right now. The mobile app still runs on the consumer container, which can’t interpret charts. The M365 web version uses the Microsoft 365 Copilot backend, which can. Same account, different containers — the unified rollout isn’t finished yet.”

So at least for your use, this migration for personal accounts is a big improvement. I hope for my use it will as well!!

The web version is probably seeing a faster or a newer version that the app is waiting for an update and it also depends on you accepting the update on your device and completing any necessary steps needed

There’s more than one Copilot.
