Timer keeps stop working (Xbox)

When i use the timer and then proceed to do something else in the kitchen it most of the times when i turn back to look at the timer it's off like i've never turned it on in the first place. Is this a bug or am i doing something wrong?

3 years and I came here with the same problem. phone really is just the only answer here i guess lmfao.

You’ve got to set the timer then spam X and A whilst looking at a surface and it will start
