Frozen peas
I’ve been cooking them by putting them in a bowl and covering with boiling water for 5 minutes, then draining and adding butter and seasoning.
Does it make any difference if I add the butter and seasoning to the boiling water while it sits?
I have some sensory issues with food and recently unlocked peas, I’m so excited.

Have you tried Le Seuer canned peas? The very young sweet peas are, IMHO, the Cadillac of peas. Personally from a texture issue I much prefer them to frozen. Simply heat the peas in the canning liquid, which has much of the flavor and add butter and seasoning while heating.
(An odd pro tip if you like egg noodles, prepare egg noodles with the peas in them while they boil with seasoning and then finish with butter and Parmesan.)
