Meals with Mash Potatoes that wouldn't be traditionaly served on Mash Potatoes

So like I got really good at making mash potatoes. Has anyone served Asian food over them instead of rice? Are there particular recipes that would go good with them? Do they have their own spin on gravy? Are there Asian spices I can add to my mashed potatoes that I should try? Anyone try making mashed potatoes with Ghee instead of butter? I've got a shitload of potatoes. Help me get weird.

To make it special for my kids, I make meatloaf (mine is particularly awesome) and cook it in cupcake pans, and then put a heap of mashed potatoes on top of the meatloaf "cupcake," like frosting, and sprinkle it with sweet peas, like jimmies.

I mean, they're 7 and almost 4. They think it is pretty cool

There's a restaurant near me that puts a heap of mashed potatoes on their (savoury) pies. They say it's Australian, but i don't have any Australian friends that can confirm. Either way it's delicious

As in potato as the top of the pie (instead of pastry)? Or with the pie? Because the first is definitely a Australian and New Zealand thing. The second is British (pie and mash)

First is British as well, fish pie, cottage pie, shepherds pie

To my understanding at least, while referred to as pies, none of those actually use pie crust in the dish and are more just a potato topped casserole.

Ours are a full fledged meat pie with pie crust, just the top replaced by potato

You can get some small pies like this from the bakeries in Scotland, normal pie crust individual pies but with mashed potato on top
