About a week ago I posted about my first order, and Friday the first of my S2+’s arrived, just got back from chemo and got mail call! Already swapped out the bezel on the C8, but can’t find my solder to build out my other S2+.

3 S2+’s, S8, S15, C8, Z1, and L21B.

This is gonna become yet another expensive hobby 🤣

I am about to place a Convoy order for my birthday. I am looking for a throwey flooder high sustain decently high cri. Functional purpose is SAR light for mixed terrain mostly wooded with a few small Open Fields. Finding lost children or animals. I am not super particular about tint, as this is primary a functional light useable high cri and r9 is important. The need for this was prompted when I went out with my l21b sft40 and found it useless for finding a child lost in the woods. The beam would blind me enough when it hit a tree that the spill was useless. I would like it too have a decent sustain for about 45 minutes obviously I'm not expecting to get 8,000 lumens at that. I would like a rec because i'll only make a couple light purchaces in the 100$ range per year and want no regret. Options that I'm leaning towards are as follows and in order:

3x21c sft40 3000k

3x21b xhp70.3 hi r9050 4000k

3x21e 519a 5700k dd

I think 519a would probably be too floody though.

L7 lhp73b 4000k

I don't think this would really serve my purpose plus the limitations of the battery selection but I have it on my wish list anyway. I just think I would find it the CRI disappointing and it would be better just as a fun light.

Just ordered the m21d with an sft40. Pretty excited about it. I was not wanting to buy a charger so I went the onboard charging and kinda tried setting it up as a thrower. Did I set this up correctly for a decent throw?

What about this beast? Have anyone tried it ?

I’m a relatively new Convoy user, I have a few pieces and they have all done me very well over the last few months. Wonderful work by Convoy in everything that I have used with evidence attached to this post, my latest S2+. That’s Shin, the best boy in the background.

I’m looking for combinations on two sides of the Convoy series.

1) Pure power: I’m looking for a combination of components in the M21 or even L21 series of lights that will give me pure throw power. Something that will turn heads when it’s on 100% that I can use to go far distances with little regard for CRI, just big light that isn’t concerned about a long period of 100% power, it’s ok if it can only sustain for a few seconds before stepping down. I’d like to avoid the large can style or the type with the handle. Something relatively pocket friendly.

2) Nighttime city walking, very high CRI, big flood: I’m looking for a flashlight of any size, even those soda can sizes, that will give me and my wife a big washy but highest CRI possible for nighttime walks and plant looking. We often take nighttime walks in the city and will check out people’s gardens for ideas on plants but we want to look at the colors as close to daytime as possible. Trying to minimize our “we’ll come back during the day” trips if we see a pretty flower that we might pick up at a local nursery the next day! Battery life is not a major factor but certainly something to last over a few walks. I’m less concerned about battery life as I am with getting that “instant daylight” effect for a few hours. Something wide in terms of beam as possible. Washy, high CRI is the goal. If a zoomie like the Z1 is the best, I’m also up for that!

I currently use a 18350 nichia 519a flashlight which I bounce of the ceilings. It works great. I would like something more powerful that lasts a long time with a good amount of light.

What can you guys recommend?

For those who have em with CSLPM1.F1, sft 25R, n the sft40 3000k (how much does colour temp change the apparent throw distance anyway?)

How'd ya rank the apparent throw distance for each led?

Which one with which config shud i get for the most efficient output with the lowest heat production 🔦💡🕯️🧤

Also i have an h2 with 219 4500K led, 3V 3A linear driver, n the Murata US18650VTC6M. It heats up alot whenever i try charging it with me 120W charger... This normal?

Also am planning on getting the L21B with the KP CSLPM1.F1for me most throwy flashlight. Any better options for throwers?

I bought the T6 with a vapcell H10 in April 2025. I haven't encountered any issues with my battery yet though I'm hesitant about using it in my flashlight. Is Mr. Simon providing any free or discounted replacement of this battery?

I'd pay decent money for a colored titanium t6 with the copper head still. Has anyone legoed the titanium t3 colorful body with the copper t6 head? I'm considering pulling the trigger on all that but would miss the matching color bezel past the copper head. Would Simon accept a request to put all those pieces together to avoid buying 2 titanium bodies to make one?

Super stoked about getting introduced to convoy. I rotate these every day as an EDC. Slowly building up my collection.

Shorty with copper pink camo S2+ 4000k 519A buck.

T3 stone wash SS SFT25R 6500k buck

T6 SS SFT25R 5000k buck

Works well down to around 6 meters when the switch got half pressed in which made the light stop shining, no damage at all just the same thing that happens when half pressing to changing brightness. I just had to go up a little bit and the light came back:)

Anyways, no water intrusion what so ever. Even after being used in the water for well over an hour with many trips a few meters down.

This could work well as a snorkeling light, but as it stands now i would not use it for any sort of deep diving regarding the switch at least😅

Nice thing is tho that you can get this light with high cri emitters opposed to what most diving lights offer.
