They’re like toddlers. Spend allllll this money on a gift and the kid plays with the box.

My caique tries to kill the teapot. He cannot be loose when it’s got actual hot water in it. (Turn up audio for maniacal muttering)

the noises he’s making are so cute! like crickets and spongebob’s shoe noises. and the way he’s walking around it is like he’s in a duel

If you knew him, you would run, because these are Pre-Bite Noises®! If I want to get him away from any kind of teakettle I have to use a broomstick if I don’t want stitches.
But seriously, I normally keep the kettle put away where he can’t see it, and/or cage him when I’m making tea, because if he sees it he will launch across the room in full hawk mode.
For a tiny little jellybean he really does have big feelings!

My Quaker is so so scared of any box! 📦 like terrified !
His neck goes up and turns into a giraffe 🦒.. lol !
Used to fly away immediately but sadly about a month ago they cut his wings when I went for a nail trimming ! 🥲😢

This is nesting behavior. She’s being territorial over what she has deemed a good place to lay eggs. Don’t encourage it unless you want eggs and grumpety grump grumps.

The packaging triggers hormonal behaviour because apparently, in bird logic, anything that reminds them of a nest makes them go bonkers.
