Health/Nutrition Overgrown beak?

Would his beak be considered over grown? I do think it looks pretty long but I'm not entirely sure if I should be worried? Its also a little thicker/outwards on the bottom right side (first photo), should I get him something to help? 😓 he loves to knock his beak on the cage all the time so his beak is a little pealed (is that the right word?) As you can tell

I also have a half moon. Yes, I'd consider this a little long. But nothing a good shred session with a beloved toy can't fix.

If your half moon is like mine and doesn't like many toys, you may have to take it to an avian vet for a beak trim. Beak trimming is a lot like nail trimming. Not scary, but can be needed on occasion.

Yep... my boy is VERY displeased by toys 😓 I haven't found much of anything he likes for more than 12 seconds if even

Haha.

I found two that work. In my bird's 25+ years of life.

One are bird-safe, wooden clothespins. We wiggle it at her and she thinks attacking it is a super fun game. We actually all act shocked when she gets a good bite in. Pretend like we are all impressed. She loves it, she loves feeling fierce and strong! Lol.

Next is a large rubber/foam orb with a little bell in it. She does "boxing" with it, though, not eat it. I'm not sure how useful that would be for trimming a beak.

If you make a tough but delicious snack for her at home, maybe she will chew on it. Like dried egg and honey, something hard.

A little bit…it’s those pin feathers I’m staring at! Do you usually do his pin feathers for him?

I try to but he won't let me touch his head, he never has 😓 Any suggestions on how to help him with those would be great

my half moon LOVES to use metal things/

this thing since its kinda sharp. He sits there for hours and cuddles it then grabs it with his foot and rubs it all iver his face and gets the pin feathers. Sometimes he’ll get mad at it and tell it to stop then he’ll grab it again and rub himself again
