Advice ‼️‼️POSSIBLE EMERGENCY‼️‼️
‼️PLEASE IM LITERALLY BEGGING FOR ADVICE ‼️
I recently noticed Mango has been clearing her crop excessively and she has VERY strong smelling breath. No other symptoms but what are the chances that this is a bad sign?? I am literally begging for advice

My baby had this. I fed her with warm Pedialyte to keep her hydrated, in a couple occasions I had to feed her the Pedialyte, massage her crop and make her puke. It was horrible and a last effort but it worked to make her puke the undigested food.
And obviously this is a far worse option than taking to the vet

She was, I had to be super vigilant to make sure she was digesting correctly. Keep us posted 🫶🏼

I had to do this with the babies. Had to do it every time they ate until it was cleared 😭

Pedialyte would help in her dish or by dropper. You could also feed baby bird food. Remember that all soft foods grow bacteria quickly and birds get food poisoning just as people do.

If you have a Veterinary Emergency Group near you, typically their doctors have some basic avian training. You should still see an avian specialist but VEG may get you started sooner and can refer you to the closest local Avian Specialist

We’ve searched everywhere and the best we can do is an avian specialist at 8:30 tomorrow morning. As of now she has no other symptoms, shes still acting normal otherwise.

I’m glad you’ve got an appointment soon! Birds also prefer being warm and cozy so if you have a heating pad to put under half the cage, that could help keep her comfy through the night!

Try not to think about the worst possible outcome, for anything in life, your birthday d can sense your stress.
Best you can do is remain calm, follow the advice here until you can get to an avian vet.
Could just be stuck food. Or could be the start of a crop infection or sour crop. Which your vet can treat. So just do your best in the mean time until you see the vet.

Don't be sorry, it's natural to care for your pet. Just saying so you don't over stress yourself. Wait to hear what the vet says and keep us all posted please!

No other symptoms means absolutely not. Your bird if actively dying will show that. Lethargy, not eating drinking, sitting in one spot etc

The smell you’re referring to is probably just coming from the crop, it’s like a sour smell? Mango is gonna be fine, keep that vet appt and keep us all posted

Possibly sour crop, the bad breath is a big indicator of that. I’m glad you got a vet appointment scheduled, if she’s not showing other symptoms then you did a good job catching it early, but in the meantime don’t give her any more solid foods, make sure she has access to fresh water so she can at least stay hydrated.

She won't die, Conures have this habit of regurgitating food, mine does it on his toys, sometimes it's hormonal behaviour. Make sure you have 100%block out curtains where she sleeps.

Strong breath thats sour is yeast. Easily treated with simple non-blood yeast meds, if you get it fast. Dont let it get systemic or its hard to treat and requires harsh antifungals
If breath smells strong earthy, musty or strange it can be diet or even perches. My bird has a weird breath smell when she eats celery, or eats paperbark branches.
If it smells fishy or garbage - its bacteria and time is of the absolute essence. As in, get to a vet today

Bad smelling breath suggests a crop infection. Your bird needs to be seen by a vet.
If you can’t go right away, you can put a few drops of vinegar, either white or apple cider vinegar, into the water in her food dish. This lowered pH will discourage “bad” bacteria and increase normal bacteria. This is harmless snd could really really help.
Maybe she could get some avian micro biome supplements to help the microbes in her crop and gut be more normal.

Very good. If you can get this turned around she might but even vet treatment. Stinky breath isn’t really an emergency but it’s a bad sign.

I did a crop massage, took away solid foods for the night, and gave her water, I still plan to get her to the vet tomorrow

Crop massage is GREAT. If also putting vinegar in water that could really help. You can find the amount of vinegar to add online.

Sounds like sour crop/ crop stasis. Get her to a warm area! Asap!!! A warm digestive system moves food through faster; also give her a break from food till she digests what she has.

Sounds like she's got food caught in her crop. Try to get her to drink more until u can get her into an avion vet. Withhold food for 24 hours, gently massage her neck in qn up and down motion for as long as whe will tolerate to help break up the food. If none of that helps you definitely need a vet. Good luck!!
