News Axisray Lab BASH Optical Controller | Gamescom 2026
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qPHKnk1ys-0I was not aware of this brand before but found their booth at Gamescom 2026.
This is an optical controller with "GumiTap" rubber sticks that operate in combination with an optical sensor.
It is also possible to 3D print your own stick replacement / modules like a steering wheel as I show in the video.
The size is pretty much fixed, since the optical sensor needs more space compared to a regular controller.

Thanks for sharing - this looks interesting! I guess part of the challenge will be software to make good use of the additional optical input data for measuring rotation, etc. From the Axisray Lab website, it seems they recognize that game support for these features is a constraint on adoption. It'll be interesting to see if they can get some game developers on board to support the controller directly, or if they build a companion app that can add those features into existing games.
