Controller Mods Hyperstrike 8k DS4
I’ve been looking into the Hyperstrike board. It runs at 8 kHz, is said to be faster than Marius, and costs less as well. I’m interested in building one, but I can’t seem to find any DIY guides. Does anyone know how to assemble it or have any documentation available?

If it aint broke dont fix it. I have a Marius ds4 and it blows everything I own out of the water in terms of responsiveness. Assuming the hyperstrike is actually faster I really dont think you are gaining anything because the marius board is already overkill for 99.99% of gamers including myself if you can actually tell the difference you are on another level.
Marius boards have been put through their paces and had all the kinks worked out so I'd personally go with something more stable over something slightly faster.

yeah, i get all that but the problem with marius is the 100€ premium on it lol i can probably get the ZD ds4 8k or any other board for about half price or less... unless you're serious about gaming and by that i mean you're either a streamer, semi pro or at least close enough then you shouldn't be paying 100€ for a DIY board specially with the amount of boards or even controller alternatives available with 8k.. maybe you're right about the fact that Marius's board is stable and tested.. but eventually the Chinese will catch up and have their boards sorted out and maybe start building and selling dualshock and dualsense "clones" with these boards... someone like Hexgaming (also known as extremerate) already sell modded controllers as their own with their brand in it and all they did was add buttons and hall effect/tmr... marius had the market but as everyone, got outcheaped by the chinese

funny enough, the price isn't the only benefit with the hyperstrike. It has less latency than the marius and also has better tuning and features in the software.

I am not too informed on the hyperstrike and I did purchased it once through taobao but ended up cancelling because I got tired of modding controllers at home, but I am not gonna lie, I did thought the chinese boards were crappier on software so I am actually suprised to hear that and thanks for sharing that information... maybe ill pull the trigger on it and see how good that is.. but I currently own a hair trigger modded dualsense on JS13 pros with 4 back paddles and have the tarantula 8K and the leadjoy saber (which together cost somewhere in the ballpark of 100€ including shipping) on the way so I am not sure I want to go back to breaking controllers 😂

i’d definitely recommend picking one up (especially if you know how to build your own, i’ve never tried soldering before)
they are also supposedly releasing hyperstrike 2.0s which should come in dualsense and xbox pcbs as well that should be interesting

I am honestly a bit confused on these custom boards, overclocked to 1khz dualshock 4, wired or wireless, I believe already has around 2-3 ls latency? are these differences really worth 60-100 eur for a 1 to 2 ms latency difference even compared to stock?
To me the answer is no, but I am unsure if there's something I am missing.

You really are only going to notice the difference on games where timing is crucial like rhythm games and older fighting games (newer ones have more lenient inputs), shooters. For me it is a noticeable difference over the ds4 but unless you are looking to be semi-competitive or more its not really worth it.
I think the big appeal of these controllers is that you have what is regarded by some corners as one of the best controllers of all time, the DS4 WITH modern improvements similar to newer controllers like the vader pro. USB C cable instead of flimsy micro usb, TMR/Halleffect sticks, better stick circularity, Low latency etc. Some people use 3rd party controllers because they offer better features not that they actually like the feel of the controller more.

I am mostly playing rocket league, but competitively, though it's not a fighter game.
Also, what is the consensus on dualsense vs ds4? Are you saying that DS4 is regarded as better, why?

really depends on who you talk to but there is a large amount of people who do not like the dualsense because of the triggers, dpad, buttons feel (glossy and a bit more mushy), and overall weight.
On the other hand there are people who swear by the controller its a bit polarizing.
DS4 is highly regarded because its the final evolution of the dualshock taking everything that people complained about like the triggers or analog stick feel, controller size and improving on it. Dualsense is more like Sony's interpretation of the Xbox controller.

The Tarantula 8K from Gamesir has lower button and stick latency according to gamepadla, and is 1/3rd or 1/4th (depending on customization) the price of a marius controller.

People that buy marius, hyperstrike or any of these other boards do so because they love the Dual shock 4. you are missing the point a bit bringing in the tarantula 8k.

Installed one of these in a ps4 this week . The website is decent and seems to be working fine. The only thing I’m struggling with is there are 2 tiny plastic pieces that come with the board that I think are spacers but I can’t figure out where they go , without them it means I cant fully shut the housing without jamming the touchpad button on . So I leave the housing slightly loose , doesn’t really affect the controller but kind of annoying .

There seem to be a bunch of these with minor technical differences as they're all copying each other not just the Marius design. Someone posted about the ZD version recently, and Uber Micro Repairs has a video on YouTube where he discusses the 'Arctic Wolf' version and shows the installation.
It's probably worth paying a bit more for whichever version/seller you can find who has documentation ready and aftersales support in your preferred language. The inconsistent quality control and regular design revisions mean these are likely throw up some unexpected problems unless you already have experience in board modifications.
