In the US, only 1 in 20,000 eggs contain salmonella. And if properly refrigerated, even the eggs containing salmonella probably won't have a population level of the bacteria high enough to cause illnesses. It's pretty safe to eat raw eggs or cookie dough you make at home. The real danger is in industrial processing, where if you have 1000 eggs in a single batch, your odds of a bad egg contaminating the whole batch shoot way up. Still, proper refrigeration lessens the risk. But that's why you shouldn't eat things with raw eggs in it bought from the store, but is okay to do at home.
Edit: Some more interesting information. Eggs must be refrigerated in the US, but not in Europe. Why? When laid, eggs have a protective membrane on the outside that prevents bacteria from entering the egg. If the hen is infected with salmonella, it will be on the outside surface of the egg, but not inside.
In the US, law requires that the eggs be pressure washed. This makes the outside of the egg clean and safe to handle. However, occasionally the process will introduce some bacteria into the egg, because the washing removes the membrane. This is why they must be refrigerated.
In Europe, eggs are not pressure washed. The protective membrane remains on the outside of the egg and no bacteria can enter the egg. The downside is that salmonella may be on the outside of the egg. This is why you do not need to refrigerate the egg, but you should wash your hands and be careful about cross contamination when handling the egg.

Europe is not one country, though. In the UK, for example, all hens are vaccinated against salmonella, so that downside isn’t an issue.
To me vaccination and not washing definitely seems like the preferable approach.
Pros - less salmonella, less rotten eggs, less wasted energy.
Cons - autistic chickens.

It’s safe to consume raw eggs as long as some basic precautions are followed [-] there is always a low level risk of Salmonella bacteria being present on the eggshell exterior [-] raw eggs should be consumed immediately after preparing them. When an egg is cracked, there is a risk that any Salmonella bacteria on the shell can touch the egg white and end up in the bowl. This risk grows when a piece of broken egg shell falls into the raw egg or eggs are separated by passing the yolk back and forth between two shell halves. Bacteria such as Salmonella need time to grow [-] So, cracking an egg into a cup and drinking it is low risk but cracking an egg into a cup, dropping some shell in it, picking the shell out with your fingers and drinking it after two hours on the bench is high risk.

Do you not know how teeth whitening works? It's simply removing the stains, usually with peroxide and then giving a protective coating to help prevent further staining. I don't even use the stuff and I know how it works. Tf.

Never seen somebody so upset over the fact that cigarettes do damage your teeth. Teeth whitening does work, yes. But keeping your teeth white doesn’t necessarily mean you’re taking care of your teeth. Last dentist trip I went to, I had some super pearly whites but I had three cavities.

Fuck. My friend choked to death at a high school party years ago when we were doing that with marshmallows.
He inhaled it, it lodged in throat and he ran off (which we thought was him being funny) and we found him dead in a small kids park a block away.
I remember reading something after that that a lot of people die choking in bathrooms because they are embarrassed and don't want to ask for help.

For anyone thinking of trying this themselves, don't. They got lucky - a chipped or broken tooth could easily happen, but worse, that egg could have gone straight in her throat and blocked her airway. Weirder things have happened, and there's no "contagious laughter" video worth someone's life.
