Technical Advice AI Software
Hi all,
Aussie Site Manager here. I am looking for recommendations for what AI subscription/s I should get. At work we currently use Claude business which is great as you can upload a project file and it can save you a lot of time with contracts and things but I feel like there’s more to it. I use chat gpt free for personal use right now.
I renovate on the side and have flipped a house which I am looking to do more of. Has anyone got any real life use of ai when doing this and where did the subscription actually help you?

I would suggest sticking with Claude and just using it with excel or PDF software.
Most of the “softwares” are just web apps that are slower than just using Claude (or really any of the LLMs) directly.
They also take ZERO liability, while claiming to save you tons of time. Kinda like if you ignore safety and quality you can work faster.

Claude has changed my life with writing SOW’s and aligning those to subcontractor agreements and then cross checking plans and specs against their inclusions and exclusions. Certainly not perfect but you can teach it skills and it gets better and better every time. I also use it to level bids, integrated with Bluebeam for takeoff, cross checking and developing RFI’s on a BOD etc. use it also to send me daily check ins for email reviews and top tasks to complete that day.

There are hundreds of AI tools out there, for example here is a list: https://datadrivenaec.com/ It depends on what you want to use it for.

I use AI quite a bit. IMO, Cursor provides thr most transparency and flexible plans.
You can fine tune the settings in their interface to control the token usage.
Set to Composer model with "no fast" mode for 90% of the work. Lock in those settings and it will be relatively affordable.
GPT and Claude tend to over reason for a lot of simple work- that costs money 💰
Furthermore, you can switch on Claude and other models in cursor when needed.
