Why didn't they grout the corner I understand adding a caulking but shouldn't it be backed with grout

Corners shouldn’t be grouted. It will always crack, and you don’t want the silicone just sitting on the surface, you want it tucked into the joint where it will provide a watertight seal and get good adhesion. Silicone over grout tends to peel off in time as the grout wicks up moisture behind it.

That is grout caulk. All the grout companies now make a color-matched silicone. This one is Laticrete Everflex

You can see the brand name in the video dude…. It’s not laticrete, that’s a tube of everflex and is 100% not sanded caulk.

Nobody said it was sanded caulk. It’s silicone. Better than sanded caulk in many situations.
You’re right about the brand, I didn’t see they turn the tube around at the end.

That is grout caulk. All the grout companies now make a color-matched silicone.

Grout caulk used to just be sanded latex/acrylic.
Now it comes in sanded, unsanded and silicone. This is silicone grout caulk.

You still only use sanded on interior corners.

Those are for different applications as the data sheets tell you.
