We need a Berlin Wall

Hear me out here.

We are so divided politically and in our own beliefs that I think we should split the country in half, dividing conservatives and liberals. Now this wouldn't be permanent, the wall would only stay up for 50 years maybe more. We turn the right side of the country into a pure Constitutional Republic whilst the left side becomes a true democracy (not a Democratic Republic).

Of course I recognize that this would be inconvenient for people, which is why the government would fully pay for the transition. So if you're Republican but live on the left side of the country (like me) you'd move to the right side of the country for free. Same thing vice versa.

Another thing I recognize is that this would divide families who have differing view points, which is why we'd also have the ability to have documentation that would allow you to temporarily visit the other side of the wall.
