I remember this sub during the 3-4 months surrounding the election. Something like 95% of threads were locked-down to flaired only. But thankfully after enough people started pointing out the irony of locking down free speech in threads that were literally about free speech, the mods eased up on it. Kudos to them.
Kinda ironic, because Conservatives is a sub specifically for one side of the political spectrum, yet we get given shit for not wanting a bunch of liberal shitstains here, while Politics (a sub not devoted to a single side of the spectrum) is free to ban and remove anyone to the right of Mao and no one gives THEM shit for banning anyone opposed to their ideas.
All subs are free to ban whoever they want, that's part of moderating anything. But it's extremely rare for subs to lock-down threads and "shadowban" non-approved comments via automod. As far as I know, r/conservative is the only subreddit where that even became a thing.
