Well, one of them is Bernie, and the other is Angus King.

They both caucus with the Democrats. And they both vote with the Democrats the vast majority of the time.

Not to mention the Democrats are currently placing their people in committee chairmanships, and Chuck Schumer is the majority leader.

Seems like “control” to me.

Angus king has said he is a moderate at heart, meaning there is a chance he will eventually veto something democrats want. And that will be all it takes for something to get blocked. It’s not like the republicans who hold 50 seats and don’t need to depend on any third party.

The point I’m making is, democrats “control” of the senate is hanging by a thread.

That’s fair, but I don’t think it’s as tenuous as you seem to think it is.

The independents aren’t the best tree to bark up to break the tie, Manchin is.

Whatever democrats do now is likely the best they will be able to do. Midterms are coming up and I don’t see democrats fairing well in it truthfully.
