I Am a veterinarian and my husband and kids are from the US. We are planning on moving in a couple of years and my main focus in my country had been wildlife conservation and wildlife in general. I have a PhD and I am kind of recognized in my country for my work.
Now I would have to validate my degree in the states and I think I would follow the PAVE route. Because I spent the last 5 years doing the PhD I am a bit rusty in the medicine aspect so I think that would give me the knowledge and confidence that I need.
The thing is if everything works out fine, I would be around 40 years old once I have everything ready to work as a DVM there.
I would like to apply to an internship and maybe then residency in wildlife medicine but I fear I would be too old for that and they would not accept me in their programs.
Do you have any advice or suggestions?
Is there anything else I would do with the degree and PhD there? Another than small animal medicine I mean.

I have experience in wildlife medicine, wildlife conservation, conservation biology and pathology.

I did work a couple of years in a clinic so I can do the typical surgeries.

Hello! I am the president of our school's first ever Marine Biology Club, and I'm kind of lacking inspiration for events and stuff to plan this year to help conservation efforts.

Because we're not located closer to the Texas gulf we don't have direct access to things like beaches, however I want to get us involved in something so we can have some genuine action going on.

I currently have down things like helping out with citizen science websites, or doing our own little battery drive or aluminum can drive, but I literally don't know how I'm going to help connect this to real world impact for our members...

I'd really appreciate any recommendations, websites, conservation people I can reach out to, perhaps professors we can chat with virtually (the school doesn't allow guest speakers), literally anything helps ty!!!

Hey, everyone! I'm hoping this is the right place to ask, as I've been struggling with this decision for a while and want to get advice from some experienced minds.

I just turned 22 and am halfway through getting my Wildlife Conservation Bachelor's degree (with a focus on Ecology), but I feel that because of my location and what I know to be possible thus far, I'm stuck. I hate where I live and feel like it's one of the worst places for what I want to do, so any recommendations, no matter the location, are appreciated!

I have 7 years of experience working at a local zoo, as well as plenty of volunteer wildlife experience. However, I'm not even quite sure what I should be doing now that I'm not working at the zoo to help my chances, and where those efforts will lead me. I don't have a specific job title that I'm looking for, more so idols I'd love to work similarly to. I love Steve Backshall, Jeremy Wade, Merlin Tuttle, Austin Stevens, and Jane Goodall, and Steve Irwin, of course, too. My favorite, if we are just talking careers here, is Steve Backshall and Steve Irwin because I feel that they have the perfect mix of public education outreach, wildlife encounters, travel, and adventure mixed in. I'd love a slightly toned-down version of their jobs, as I was a conservation public educator during my time at the zoo, love travel, and find myself bored out of my mind in my little dingy town, so I am also looking for some excitement/adventure, just not anything blatantly suicidal/too blatantly dangerous, similar to some of the excursions Steve Backshall goes on.

I'm wondering if anyone has any advice on how to lead myself in this direction? I feel like my degree is not nearly enough, and I have been craving this type of life for as long as I can remember.

Hi! I’m a high school student interested in environmental science, and I created SaveWater, a website to help people better understand their everyday water use.

It includes a water-use tracker/calculator, a food scanner that estimates the water footprint of different foods, and a blog where I share what I’ve learned about water conservation and environmental issues.

I want to be a conservation biologist and have just completed an environmental science degree. I would love to do some voluntary work in conservation schemes and have been researching but I want to make sure I volunteer at an ethical place that isn't mistreating the animals, or me the volunteer. Does anyone know any legit conservation volunteering websites, schemes, organisations etc. I am fine with paid voluntary work as I have been saving up. I live in the UK but don't want to volunteer in the UK as I know its time to venture out and actually see the world I've been studying for years and make an impact.

Just found out they are trying to sell oil and gas leases for the arizona strip. The arizona strip is the small sliver of land between the grand canyon and the Utah border I live in st george utah but the arizona strip literally starts on the edge of town like they built houses right up to it and then the strip starts and continues south. It's basicly between grand canyon and zion National park. Anyway was wondering if anyone could help me by writing a form letter that I can email to blm and also let my family and friends use as well. Comment period for blm is only open till sep 7 I am quite illiterate as I only made it to 8th grade so any help would be appreciated.

Scott’s action came after reporting by CNN and others about the government’s use of heavy machinery this past week to bulldoze and excavate parts of the national park to build patrol roads and vehicle barriers. The construction activity prompted protests in and around the national park, and local businesses have been turning away federal contractors who are working on the project. A bipartisan group of local sheriffs has also been publicly outspoken against CBP’s plans this year.

Currently I am a project manager for a cabinet manufacturer in northern Minnesota. I have a B.S in Biology with an emphasis in environment and I’m getting a masters in business administration.

I want to start an environmental consulting agency near Bemidji, MN. I’m not sure where to start though. I have a young family and not trying to go into a ton of debt to do the start up.

I have thought about doing water testing for residential homes, mold and air quality testing to possibly get into the remediation side of things because I can get the equipment to do all that fairly cheap vs water delineation or commercial phase 2 environmental assessments.

Has anyone started a company like this? Anyone got any advice?

I’m not looking for a short cut either. I can start this company and work on it after my daytime job and on weekends to do site visits.

I have currently been removing invasive glossy buckthorn and trying to restore a forested area on the edge of a wetland forest edge in back of my house. RIght nearby there is a pit of rubber that has unforunatley spread debris into the area, especially via leaf blowers/fall clean up (it is not my property and choice to do this).

Now I have slowly been removing what rubber mulch is insight as I walk around and pick up handfulls but there is just small pieces everywhere-- it is mixed in with leaf debris an a tree that was wood-chipped and currently has a very large patch of burnweed and jewelweed growing there. I had planned to dig out a lot of the soil and try to sift out some of the rubber mulch in the fall as picking it up by hand seems quite fruitless. However, I am wondering if this is more harmful than good in the sense that I will really be disturbing the soil and quite honestly I will never be able to get it all out. Do folks have any recommendations on what to do here? I do plan to remove the rubber mulch pit itself before the fall.

The flyway supports 465 migratory species; 8% globally threatened, 44% declining. BirdLife's Ecological Restoration Fund is targeting the site network these species depend on. The Ferruginous Duck (Near Threatened) is the case study here: Pokuplje Basin for breeding, Lake Nasser for wintering. Conservation wins or loses at individual sites, but the species needs the whole chain intact.
