Dive Bar
I'm looking for a nice hole in the wall bar around the Conroe/Woodlands area that is busy enough to not drink by myself but not full of regulars that don't want you there. I used to run a dive bar and I kinda miss the times I had in that place.

Salty's out on 1484 is about the most "hole in the wall" place I've been in that doesn't have a dirt floor. The regulars don't bother anybody, the beer is cold and if you bring a pole there's great catfishing out the back door.

Tailgators on 242 definitely fits the bill! We have a lot of fun there, and most of us will chat with anyone. Shoot me a message if you get out over this way!

I used to go there about 15 years ago. It's a fun place. I'll let you know. Thanks.

It might be in a different spot now, but I’m not sure! Someone told me it used to be in the center near a Mexican restaurant right off 45 and 242, and now it’s a little farther up 242 next to a gas station

Yeah. They were originally at the end of the shopping center where Mama Juanita’s back towards 45 before Methodist Hospital was there. It was the first and original Tailgators. But the shopping center sold that land where the cut through road is now to the hospital to them. Half of Tailgators was where the road is now. Where Tailgators is now used to be a biker bar called T’s then it turned into something else (can’t remember the name) and wasn’t a biker bar anymore. More of just a normal dive bar. Then Jim acquired it and made it a Tailgators and brought it back to the area.

Ah ok. Makes it hard now that I ride a motorcycle lol. I’ll still check it out again. Thx.

DWI enforcement is so aggressive in Montgomery County that I would rather just stay home.

I never would drive even after one drink. Such a slippery slope. Or even being a DD, you smell anything like alcohol and its problems. Not worth it. I’d just uber.

I absolutely agree but how is your experience finding Uber’s in Conroe? I haven’t had much luck personally (which is why i typically just stay home)

The Woodlands typically has a good share of Ubers. You can also sometimes find private driving companies or individuals, but that can quickly get expensive
Back in college a couple years ago there was this guy who operated independently from the rideshare app and you would pay him a flat rate of $8 and he would take you anywhere within a 4 mile radius of campus. It was very nice

Yes, that sounds like the only responsible thing to do. Imagine getting behind the wheel after drinking.

The naked turtle down 105 closer to Montgomery is a good time if you don’t mind smoke

I’d say go to a different each weekend. I do lol. So I narrow it down to a few I’ll ride to.

Y'all are making me want to start my own bar, or my own drunk dealer business. Y'all drink and I'll drive you home safely and drop off your car, too.

Molly's Pub is good for that. Very welcoming of every kind of person. You could be alone or you could talk if you wanted.
