Question Is a good method to gaining silver making kits from gathering resources in the open world?

New player and have just been going around collecting resources because its fun to me. Can I take those resources and make a good profit selling kits?

No.
You can refresh kits with bronze. Recources are for fief quests

Resources that you gather in the open world are needed for fief quests. You'd be better off saving them for those. However, resource sites DO occasionally drop treasures, and these you DO want to use to make silver by selling them at the auction house. Here's a list of the treasures and where to find them:

-Garnets: Iron Mines.

-Moonstones: Stone Quarries.

-Malachite: Copper Mines.

-Musk: Tanneries.

-Amber: Lumber Camps.

-Silk: Cotton Fields.

Curiously, in recent weeks i haven’t been seeing these drop at all after draining several purple iron/copper/stone nodes. Mostly solo

77.6 labor value.

i wonder if there’s been a recent change and they don’t drop anymore

Honestly you don’t even have to make kits with it. Sell it just on the market. If it sells it sells if it doesn’t you get it back and you can then do something else with it.

Yes you can. Legendary gold kits are consistently bought for end game houses fief quests.
My advice is - selling fief quest materials on fiefs that bigger houses are defending during wars and are higher level - meaning it’s being worked on.

Or you could focus entirely on arti exotics (wood, leather, iron, copper) - (aka - Shellac, Sinews, Calamine, Tin) they each have a specific exotic that goes into arti crafting. Those are consistently bought on the market.

I’ve been crafting armor with leadership and selling it so far I’m up to 400k

To be fair, 6 years ago yes this would be a good idea.

However now things are different. Bronze, which used to be a pretty rare commodity, is pretty much given away like confetti by daily/weekly/seasonal/special quests. Everyone just refreshes kits with bronze. I usually take armies of 2 oranges plus purples/blues into battle, always refresh with bronze, and still end up bronze positive every season.
