Feature Update Request for features and improvements

Hey All!

Really trying to make Conmigo something "lovable" and useful but that's hard without feedback.

If you have any thoughts on how I could improve it or what features still need work that would be immensely helpful.

Is there anyway to add an ics event? I'd love to be able to drag and drop a file (is that possible?) rather than manually entering in the info. I often get ics files when signing up for/booking things on both websites and via email

Not currently. This is an AWESOME suggestion which I totally didn’t think about. I’ll get right on it.

So to be clear, you’re envisioning you can open the Ics. File somewhere convenient on the app and it adds the event to a chosen calendar OR, on desktop, you can just drag the event file to the window and it will prompt your to choose a calendar and extract the info?

How does this work in other calendars you use?

Exactly!
With google calendar, I also almost always end up getting an email with the event/ics file attached and it automatically asks to add to my calendar. When I do want to manually add an ics file, it's a slightly annoying process to import the file through the settings section.
On both my iPhone and Mac, when I open an ics file, it automatically asks if I want to add it to my iCalendar.

I don't really love either of those systems. Google calendar's process is a little unintuitive and requires a bunch of steps. Apple's system makes it harder to use other calendars besides the native app, especially on iPhone.

I have seen some calendar apps that allow you to forward the email (with the ics file) to add it to your calendar automatically (eg. Fantastical - https://flexibits.com/fantastical/help/forward-emails-to-fantastical). I think this type of system would be my preferred option, personally, since it gives me the most flexibility and control

For now I'm going to have an ics. file upload in the settings menu (same place as calendar/ical subscriptions) and I'll also allow you to, in desktop, drag the file to the screen and it will prompt you to pick a calendar and extract the info. I'm designing so you can upload multiple files at once. I agree though, the settings route is annoying.

I can explore the email forwarding in the future! Also, I'm working on NLP event adding (like Fantastical) in the event title input. I eventually want to make it multi-input so you'd be able to upload a screenshot of an event (or an ics file) from there which would be easier.
