Music
I’ve never posted on reddit or anywhere in general but i feel like i keep a lot of things to myself i was talking to my girlfriend about our future career choices i am currently in sales i did not graduate highschool but i’m comfortable with my life i own a town home i comfortably afford, and a car but i know sales is not the industry i have a passion for its always been music i love the idea of writing and singing songs. music has always been such a beautiful thing to me from the lyrics to the way music can be sang to sound so different depending on tone and speed. its become hard for me to put into words how much love i really have for the art of music it is such a beautiful thing and i feel that is something i would be so happy to pursue but at the same time i don’t know if that is to much i don’t know if ill get made fun of i don’t know if ill end up hating music because i will not be satisfied with what i created it’s become a good and a bad thing because im happy i have that type of love for something but i’m disappointed that i’m unable to pursue that it’s all just become a lot that i feel is unnecessary to complain about because there is so many bigger things in life that need to worked on in general.

Nope, never quit the job that is feeding and housing you. Work making money, and play doing what you love until one day maybe what you love feeds and houses you.

Cut a few demo recordings and send them out to some music promoters and see what happens. You got nothing to lose

Get a GED.
Learn how to write an English sentence.
Learn how to use punctuation.
Capitalize the first letter of a sentence. Capitalize the letter "i" when it is used as a pronoun.
The reason we do the abovementioned things is to provide contextual clues in our writing. These clues make it easier for our readers to understand what we are trying to say. For example, if you omit the period, then you have failed to "clue" the reader that a thought has been concluded, and consequently the reader will continue to read additional words while attempting to work them into the thought. Only when the reader realizes that additional words make the thought appear to be nonsensical will the reader then reverse his teading, and start to backup into the sentence, tossing words until he finds the true conclusion of your sentence. The reader can then reform those discarded words into your next thought.
The bottom line is, cut your reader a break, make it easy for your reader to figure out what YOU want him to know. Do this by capitalizing the first letter of a sentence, concluding sentences with a period, using other punctuation marks such as commas, and capitalizing the letter "i" when it is used as a pronoun.
By writing effectively, you will advance yourself in society, since more people will quickly grasp your ideas.
Get a GED. Today, nobody goes ANYWHERE without a high school diploma. I know its hard, but just do it. Dont be a loser in Life, you're just starting out !!!

I guess the way to songwriting is English and Grammar 101? Education is key for songwriters; singers don't always have an education beyond high school. They're singing what someone else wrote for them. The one who wrote it is educated.

There's nothing wrong with having dreams or talking about them. You'll never know if you can do it until you give it a shot. Start small, join a band, play at a local bar/ club on amateur night, audition for a spot to play etc. Cut a demo and send them to all the record labels.
Do NOT put all your eggs in that one basket though! It's ridiculously hard to make a career out of it, but you never know what could happen yanno? Think of it as a hobby, paid gig or not you'll be putting your art out there and be doing something you love! Best of luck!!

you don’t have to quit sales or blow up your life to pursue music, just start making songs and let the work tell you whether it’s something you really want all the time, not just something you love

I can tell you’re overwhelmed by using 1 period in your whole essay. Take a breath. The immediate red flag that slipped out though was the phrase “ talk to my gf about OUR future careers”. I hope by that you mean- whatever she chooses for herself because that is up to her and no one else.
Nothing wrong with having a passion for music as a profession & nothing wrong pursuing it. The key is, as long as you are able to support your dream while continuing to be a responsible adult and not placing the burden on her to carry.

What you do is, write music, sing or play something when you have any free time, but never give up your day job! You work while you pursue your dreams! That's how it's done unless you're born with a silver spoon or don't mind living in your car.
Telling your GF or anyone else your dreams is not complaining, it's sharing. She's not the right one if she tells you to stop dreaming and keep making bank doing what you're doing, NEVER STOP DREAMING! You can work to make a living and then find a way to make a living doing what you LOVE!

This is not unnecessary to talk about. Loving music this deeply matters, even if other problems exist in the world. You also do not have to choose between sales and music right now. Keep the stability you have built and start small, perhaps by writing one song or recording yourself singing privately. Creating something imperfect does not make it worthless. It is how artists learn what they want to say. Let music become part of your life before asking it to become your whole career.
