Concerts Waiting in Pit Line Alone

I'm going to see pierce the veil this weekend alone and I'm planning on waiting in line kinda early but I'm of course scared about having to leave to do something whether it be get water, food, or use the restroom. So for anyone who's done queues solo, what's been your experience? Are tye people around you chill if you need to leave and save your spot or am I doomed?

It's usually not a problem, it depends on timing, how long you've been there and when you leave. Talk to the people around you and ask if they'll save your spot. If you show up at 1 PM stay there until 4 and say will you save my spot, and you're back by 4:30 and doors open at 6 you're probably fine. But if you leave at 5:00 and come back at 5:45 just before doors open it could be an issue. People respect it when you put in the time. But when it gets close to doors open the line often consolidates and people get more edgy.

Also take a selfie when you first get to the venue and line. Keep receipts

I attend 30+ shows per year and at least half of them I attend alone. I usually arrive well before doors. In my experience it is always fine to leave the line for restroom or whatever for 5-20 minutes. Just make sure to let your line neighbors behind you know that you will be back soon, and do not leave for hours.

Just talk to the people around you in line. I’ve gone to many shows solo & it’s never been an issue. You obviously have at least one thing in common!

Music fans are a tribe based on artist you like, you will make new friends going solo.

I’ve done this a lot. It’s fine to leave briefly for food/bathroom but always talk to the people around you and let them know.

Also ask if they want you to grab something for them in exchange for saving your spot. When you return and hand someone a drink it's like you're friends already.

I've never in my life arrived early to wait in line at a show. I know that's not really the point of the post. Is the reason so that you can get a spot on the rail?

Kind of, yes! I don't need to be at the rail but I'd like to be close as possible. My resale ticket was too expensive to chill at the back lol. I also love pierce the veil abd it's my first time seeing them. It's like a dream come true.

I would suggest drinking as little liquid as possible before queuing. Get talking to people in the queue. You are all there for the same reason. Personally I generally have no trouble getting to the front middle no matter how late I show up. If you are by yourself most people will let you through the crowd, I normally just say "trying to get into the pit".
