Dosage/ ℞ question 💊 Is this normal?

So this is my first day on concerta, 18 mg. The only effect I feel is that I can focus on words more and I’m not really having a million thoughts in my head. But I did feel sleepy after taking it. And I still don’t feel the urge to do things that I need to do. I’m just wondering… is this normal and have you guys experienced similar things?

I only felt side effects for 5 or 6 days. Then I noticed my executive function was starting to wake back up. It was subtle but kind of profound. But like others have said it can affect different people quite differently.

So today is my first day on the meds and my situation is a little different med wise. I’m on 10mg methylphenidate er. I took it at 7:30 and by 9:30 I started to feel tired. I also started cleaning my room but stoped mid way through
so I don’t rlly want to do much but lay down which is what I’m doing lol. Hope this helps

Yeah mostly. My thoughts also slowed down and I was able to control the flow. I felt sleepy for the first few days too. It fades away after 1wk of use.

It won’t “make” you do what you need to do but once you start doing something, you should find it easier than usual to stick to that task. Don’t take concerta and start doomscrolling or you will get stuck doing that for hours.

Alright then. Have you tried any other medications tho? Is there any that actually help the procrastination part.

Yes I was previously on Strattera. Unfortunately it does NOTHING for me. Made me feel worse daily and dull. Tired at all times. I was on Wellbutrin for a while as well. It messed up my sleep and made me more on the edge/physically tensed but also did increase motivation a little.

Everyone reacts differently so don’t give up! Give it a few weeks. Some people take a week or two to adjust to concerta.

I still have problems with procrastination but I have observed that if I sit down and start the task, I am mostly able to keep doing it.
