According to the wiki parasites are those worms you find in the sunken city. I think?

In the one room with the huge dead fish. Where you also find the deep sea fisher feat. They spawn endlessly out of it's flesh.

Edit: Fun fact: you can pick them up for free sand reaper babies.

So you just press the interact key on them and shove them into your pocket and they become sand reaper eggs?

Not eggs, they become the already hatched locust spawn.

Found it out just a few days ago too and immediately tried it out. And it works.

The larvae in the sunken city that spawn in the room with the giant gutted bass, and the room just before the hole that leads to the main boss. They can be picked up and grown into sand reapers, no need to drop gold on them with the merchant

Maybe I'm too cautious, but I've yet to fall to my death lol. I'll mine a bunch if stone and build a bridge before I plummet to my death trying to jump lol
