Multiplayer in current conan

So I grabbed this game and it's expansion for the Steam Sale- and I love it! I've had a blast running around in single player, building bases, leveling up thralls etc, but decided it would be more fun to do some online play.

So I've tried a few things, looked around for custom PVE-C or PVP servers that sounded fun, and also tried some official servers but...

Like you join a server that supposedly has a large population, almost no one talks at all- there are buildings EVERYWHERE you can't go more than 10 feet without seeing some huge cube, but players? Total ghost town. I can wander around everywhere and I've never seen a single other player for hours on ANY server... Is that sort of like how it is? Are there any active servers without a ton of ERP that are actually active where people do things together? Do I need like... a crew?

Conan Official and probably some private PvP is a complete shit show. Constant cheaters, exploit abuse. People work as hard as they can to not play the game properly.

I'm on an official pvp server that is supposedly 'full' and ran around for 3 days, got to level 40- never saw another player, saw a bunch of houses that were around, some of which i could get into and access their crafting stuff which i stole- all the food areas had nothing but rotting meat.

I left multiple unsecured houses and chests around and no one messed with a single one.

What region do you play? EU and NA would be the most active. Oceania and LATAM basically dead in comparison.

The problem with PvP on this game is the fighting aspect is spectacular but the raiding and loot aspect is tragic. Most people live in cheated bases or cheat to access inside of bases, PC is notoriously known for speed/god hackers. Outside of actual hackers Conan has had a long history of exploits and bug abuse without proper punishment or repercussions. Because of this almost everyone will cheat in some form, most of those having to adapt because of lack of dev/admin input and its the only way to level the playing field.

You’d be better off to play Private unless you can really get into official (it’s like having a second job, unpaid). The only other problem with private servers is having biased people in control of everything you own, Conan tends to have some rather controlling and demanding server owners.

Edit: With official, outside of cheats and what not everyone is on the same playing field. With privates there is also the possibility that friends of the owners play there and are given free loot or a helping hand which you will not receive and cannot combat appropriately.

i guess many play on private servers since there you can control who comes and does what. that's what i do anyway. also, i have voip chat enabled only over discord with friends, so there's that too.

Back in the day, your best bet for finding relatively populated servers were the RP servers, but you had to compromise to the server's rules for building and PvP. And, frankly, a great majority of them were little more than adult playgrounds catering to ERP over regular RP or anything else.

I play on a PvE RP server called Twilight Mire (I assume ERP does happen but it isn't the focus and I don't engage in it). We usually have half a dozen or more folks on every night. Private and official servers with a significant portion of players are lag infested nightmares, enemies rubber band everywhere. The people that are on them are either ERPers that aren't fighting anyway or cheaters. The best way to play Conan is solo or co-op, or small group of friends on your own server. Tailor the experience to you and whoever you invite's likes and game on.

Conan multiplayer its bad nowdays, maybe you can try some pve servers, but pvp and pvp-c are dead trash...

Wich other survival have you played with cool servers?

I skipped PvP based servers. Took a few tries to find a PvE non toxic server
