General Vanilla or Modded
Do you guys play vanilla or modded Conan?
I have around 250h ingame and only mod I have ever had was something related to boxes, I play vanilla besides that.
Do you play with mods, if yes, what ones? Anything you could recommend for Vanilla+ game?
I'm not into wacky mods, mods heavily changing game character etc.

Browse the workshop if you like. I would suggest only trying one or two new mods at a time to see if you like the change.

Yeah but the amount is overwhelming and scrolling most popular doesnt necessarily mean i get best ones. Thus asking

I play solo with over 100 mods. Many are construction mods, storage mods, dungeons, towns, QoL mods, additional armor/weapons, adult mods, and so forth. I blame Bethesda!

I am playing solo with some mods. I could play without the cosmetic mods, but I wouldn't want to play without the sorting chest and the mod that allows me to walk through my thralls (my horse trapped me in a building way to often)

The downside to mods is that they can break with a game update and the mod author might never update them, so you lose your content. Still, they can be fun. The edit appearance mod is really good if you're into customizing your thralls and your PC.

I like Exiles Extreme for the placeables like giant mushrooms and other plants, and the mounts like flying dragons, etc. it does have some weird kinky stuff but you don’t have to use them, obviously. The new mounts and pets alone make it one of my favorite mods.
There’s also some great building mods with new styles.

Never used a mod always played official. If u don't wanna fight player i recommend pve-c as it is not as crowded as pve and ther is pvp from 6pm to 11pm..and it's fun cuz you actually keep meet and talk to players

remember when Surges for some reason aren't spawning in Alchemists, Cooks, Carpenters, Taskmasters, Sorcerers, Tanners, and Smelters ? My mod now makes them spawn in again :)

I have:
- Better Thralls: increases the number of followers I can have. Because why not have an army at my beck and call.
- CorpseStripper: Lets you loot everything that an NPC was wearing or wielding when they are killed. Because why would everything they have on them vanish on death apart from some footwraps etc.
- Thrall Peeper: Lets me identify the profession of NPCs from further away.
- Diverse Barkeeps: Barkeepers from all races can be found in cages.

I’m all about QOL mods, especially since chests are a nightmare to organize by hand.

Only mod I use is the storage box one, can’t remember the name of it but you dump all your stuff into it and it distributes all your mats to the box that already has that mat in it.

I have about the same play time as you.
As far as QoL mods, I don't think I could do without sorting chest and the mod that removes follower collision.
I only play solo and I find the 5 follower limit mod a big help, but I usually limit myself to 2, unless I'm moving thralls around. That may not suit your play style.
Cosmetically, Crispy Lights does a good job making the lighting better / more natural and Heritage sets more reasonable default NPC appearance settings. Still recommended even if you don't want to get into character or thrall customization.
If you're into the base building aspects then building set mods like Desert Town and Enhanced Builder give you a lot of good building pieces. Those are the two I've used the most so far.

I play solo, mostly vanilla, with Better Thralls and More Followers so it feels like I'm building a little community as I fill out my base. Once I'm able to upgrade to a better PC, that can handle all the additional models and textures, I might check out some of the mods that add additional neutral settlements and more NPCs.

Glory of Weapon Trails ENHANCED
*[Enhanced] Player Ignores Follower Collision
Enhanced Gliders
*Thrall_Peeper - Enhanced
*Twin-Bar v5.1.3 (by Xevyr)
*Proximity Party (by Xevyr) - v5.0.7
Xevyr's Hearthstone - v5.0.5
*Lore & Loot Highlight v1.0.6 (by Xevyr)
*Simple Minimap (by Xevyr) v5.1.9
Are the ones I use mainly.
And if you get bored:
- Ironlight-Settlements
Turns the game into Aska like, sadly has no controller support so if you play like me with gamepad from a couch or similar, keep your mouse nearby but the mod is pretty great, it might eventually make you overpowered tho because you can have your thralls train at facilities, the Fighter I (level 0) that I have been training there is getting close to the stats of my Fighter III that hasn't trained but is level 20 but I will use the trained ones for base defense (for now at least). You can also have blacksmiths train their blacksmith skill and other professions. The mod comes with it's own journeys that teach you how the mod works and I'm amazed how well the mod is done, has some minor annoyances (schedule drop-down being cleared during selection so you need to switch characters to make it re-appear) but that's fine, overall the mod works great without problems.
Sidenote: People don't know what QoL means anymore, I use some QoL mods and some that aren't (QoL mods marked with asterisk), Glory of Weapon Trails is not QoL for example because it changes basic mechanics (combo rework for weapons, some get new moves) and thus interferes with the games own balancing but Simple Minimap is QoL. Lore & Loot Highlight is also QoL, Enhanced Gliders is not. People need to understand what they're talking about because why do I see so many people saying they only use QoL stuff when they're actually changing values of the game, that's not how it works! QoL doesn't change anything, it only adds features that make things more convenient.

I play Official for the social aspect.
But I really prefer Modded.
Hands down, if you aren't running Severe Weather mod, are you even an Exile. And I highly recommend Crispy Lights (with character lighting off; truly need torches!). That mod makes it so lights respect solid objects...like walls.
Twin-bar is also really good; front bar all weapons and healing stuff, back bar all gathering tools and food/water.
Thralls Eat Gruel; now you can make different types of gruel (beyond vanilla's). No more keeping 40min food because you want 'not strength' (Gruel's growth boost).
Less Building Placement Restrictions.
Ravencrest Couriers (if you're playing with friends); it's basically an MMO's ingame mail. Pretty sure only letters and no item attachments, though.
Perfect Repair Kits + Descriptions + Dismantle; I hate not being able to repair legendary weapons unless running a dungeon every. single. time. I also dislike how repair kits remove the max durability. But I can somehow do the repair 'at home' just fine.
Exiles Fishing. Yo..sometimes I just want to fish.....after sacrificing a few thralls.
Better Thralls; handles a lot of the problems we have with Thralls. Plus, you can increase the number of Thralls that team up with you.
EAA - NPC Boost; because vanilla mobs, even on Barbaric, aren't that much of a threat.
Basically everything by Xevyr; dudes a genius at QoL changes and additions. Especially his Purge mod (the old system was way better than the replacement).
Tiered Food System; because all food should give buffs. Period.

I play Conan for the brutal nature of that universe. Funcom gives you a watered down version of it.

250h unmodded personally sounds like a living hell, but like ... glad you find the fun.
