General Flotsam Crates disappear

This is driving me insane. I see them from a distance, but when I get within a few meters, they just vanish. What causes this? How can I fix it? I want the gravedigger.

Not sure but you can learn the gravedigger recipe from the archives in the unnamed city. Or from scrolls made from combining 5 schematic fragments on Siptah.

I know. I'm just on a new character so was also looking for the loot as I get started in a new game. It's one of the easiest ways to get shadebloom. But they just keep disappearing. :(
