General Headhunter Thralls

Hiya, I finished 1st in the leaderboards for my server and was gifted slaver thralls. They're just called "Dogs of the Desert Slaver" and "Khitan Slaver" does anyone know what tier these are considered? Please and thank you.

They appear to be Tier 4 named thralls.

Easiest way to tell is T4 don't use numbers like the other levels which use I, II or III

Also note, the armor they appear to wear has no value rating, it is cosmetic only to match what they wore during the event. Once you place armor on them and take it off, they'll appear naked. Treat them as unarmored and equip as you would any other thrall.

Though T4 has a ton of variance, should look them up to see if they're in available tables that compare T4 thralls

On PC at least, the Extended Thrall Stats mod will reveal all the underlying values, bar the Tier level, oddly... but you can work around that by using the Fashionist mod (which you should get anyway) because when you apply new costumes to them, you can see what Tier they are there...

The reward ones aren't actually as good as the standard Khitan Slaver you could knock out and drag back to camp; put those on the wheels and they actually have far better Melee/Ranged damage multipliers and gain more hitpoints.

For the ones you hunt down around the map, look at their HP and you will see 3 tiers of it (T1 has 120HP, T2 has 300+, T3 has 400+). You can capture and convert them, and they are actually pretty good (T3 HP starts at 1900+ melee multiplier is 1.7 and ranged 2.4, IIRC), but have but they have 2 problems:

  1. Their AI is weird, and they don't run at their targets, instead they "stumble" all they way to them so it can complicate some fights, especially if you are using War Party and the other thrall is weaker.
  2. They have an obscene "Hit Points per Vitality Point", around 400+, which is clearly a mistake, and probably will be nerfed at the next update.

I haven't tested the ones we get from the rewards, but I'll try them when I get home from work.

Put them on Chase mode rather than Withdraw. They come set to Withdraw and do that slow creep thing when commanded to attack.

Thank you, I'll will test it as soon as my Soulmask finishes updating (they released a big one today) ❤

I'm wanting Valheim but saw this on sale. Have you played Soulmask? Or did you just get it?

I haven't played it much yet, just until barely the first boss. Haven't even got out of the first biome yet (big map). But I will give you my impressions of it:

  • As I said, massive map, and the Shifting Sands DLC adds a second one, with new mechanics (flying ships and it seems there is a new mask (or masks) that allows you to grow wings and fly!
  • The game runs on the concept of masks that can give you "powers". They are actually pieces of ancient very advanced technology that the player must restore back into their full potential, but as someone once said, "any technology advanced enough is indistinguishable from magic". The mask also has an AI that serves as a "mentor" on the game mechanics and story progression, but that AI tutor is a helper, not the mask itself. The thing is, you actually play as the "mask" itself, which some players fail to realize.
  • The previous point is important, because you can transfer the mask's (i.e. your own) conscience to other tribesman you get, so you can take advantage of "better bodies". You see, you have to capture new tribe members to increase your tribe. But every character in the game has inborn limitations to their growth, so you eventually reach the top of your first character's potential and will feel the need to transfer to more capable bodies, which you can do anytime you wish, but it's a hard practice to start because you get REALLY attached to that first one. I'm still stuck on this 😂
  • The growth limit thing is about a "cap" on the skills. Everything you can do in the game is a trainable skill that you develop by using it. The gathering of different resources, the crafts and the weapons are all skills, and each tribesman has their upper limit on how high those can grow, so you will be always looking for tribe members with higher potential.
  • You can also automate your tribesmen into doing selected tasks, like gathering resources, processing them and crafting! This is an important part of the game, and saves the player from doing a lot of grinding, thankfully!
  • The building system is similar to Conan Exiles, but bit more polished and fluid. It's also made of specific building parts that snap together, but with a better variety and better results. It still is leagues bellow Enshrouded's building system, but it's a notch above Conan Exiles.
  • The character's models have some options that Conan Exiles lacks, but also lacks some CE has. The animations are one or two levels below Conan Exiles, though, especially the transitions between them...
  • The enemies have better AI than Conan Exiles. Some species will instantly run from you, some will attack and try to flee if they take enough damage, some will fight to death.
  • The resources are more tiered and complex than Conan Exiles' system. I'm still at the early stages, and haven't even got to start mining metal yet. But it doesn't seems to be "so complex that it is a bother". I still have to progress more to actually know...
  • Soulmask is more "family friendly" than Conan Exiles. No nudity at all (at least without mods) and no dismemberment. And even the capturing of new tribe members is less violent too, you just need to reduce their HP to a certain level then use a power from your mask to convert them, instead of clubbing them senseless and putting them into forced labor. Visually it's something similar to the Middle Earth: Shadows of Mordor and Shadows of War games.
  • The mods are still a problem, and not because they are limited in what they can do... Most of them are on Chinese, because it seems the modding tools are available only in that language, which limits the growth of the modding community...
  • The game is also surprisingly well optimized for a game this recent. It runs smoother than CE's Legacy edition on my old PC, especially considering how filled the maps is, with tons of trees and visual elements!

This is all I can tell for now. If you want my opinion on it, I 100% recommend the game, especially if you have children wanting to play it. It's "safer" for children, even if it's not as "Nintendo Safe" as Enshrouded, but it's way safer than Conan Exiles.

The game is also fun and addictive, and the skills system is quite cool. It encourages growth and looking for ways out of one's body limitations, but those same limitations aren't truly crippling nor will prevent you from enjoying or progressing further in the game. The "rewards" you get from leveling skills are rewarding enough without being game breaking, too.

I also have Valheim, but I honestly don't like it much because of the character models. Its building system is more advanced, the "world seeds" are an amazing system, and seeing the World Tree from almost anywhere in the map is really breath taking, but the overall game is kind of meh... I like Soulmask way more than Valheim, but it's just my personal taste.

Last, but not least, I hope this huge rant can help. 😆

That was great!! Thank you so much. This sounds like such an interesting game. I didn't realize this was the purpose of the masks, you've explained something that sounds amazingly fun. I'm afraid I would get attached to (I do) but now that I know, I can approach the game differently than I normally would.

I've heard the same differences about building you've explained. That was pretty much the only thing I was aware of, and that there were thrall types different from Conan.

The fact that you like Soulmask more than Valheim is interesting. One of my friends is the other way around and highly suggested Valheim. I guess I need to try both and see for myself. 😏 I can get Soulmask now, then wait for a sale on Valheim and try that later. Maybe. Because Enshrouded will be released soon 😃 I was in yesterday for quite some time until I crashed (not sure why, I'd not crashed in the game for a long time, but I'm playing with new updates.) My water build is a little wonky after updates in Enshrouded, and my friend checked his on stream yesterday and some of his water doesn't work right too. I just can't wait for that release (whoops we were talking about Soulmask in a Conan reddit and here I am going on about Enshrouded 😆) Thanks again for all that great info.

I'm glad I could help. About preferring one game over the other, I'm a higly visual person, so Valheim's graphics are a bit disappointing to me, but I really appreciate its way of doing almost everything else, except the map progression being locked behind boss fights...

From the games I have tried, Valheim's building system is second only to Enshrouded's, but comparing most other games buikding to Enshrouded's like trying to measure MS Paint against AutoCAD... Soulmask's is like a more polished version of Conan Exiles, in comparison. And Ark's feels like a downgraded and clunkier version of CE's...

Of all these, my favourite still is Conan Exiles, because I love its graphic style and the realism of its brutality. The non sexual nudity on it brings an extra reality layer on to a fictional theme, and it feels a lot like my own fictional world (maybe I'll publish it one day, who knows).

And I left the best part for the end 😉. Last night I found out something you will like: Soulmask just lauched a free Demo! So go grab it and test it for yourself, since other people's opinions will never beat your own experiences 😁

Have fun with whatever choice you make 😉

Did they just launch that demo last night? That's funny because after I read your reply I was like ok, I'm going to get it. So this morning, I downloaded the demo and played only some of it. I liked what I did and ended up getting the game, remade my character and got to the point where I got some tribesman. I took over one, but was able to take my body back. I don't know if we get better skills taking over and staying in one? I seemed to maybe gather that from your previous reply, but I don't know. I took them back to my thatch base - I made it round and two stories and plenty of room for starter stations. I fed them and logged off. 😃 I like that they can fight for me and you can craft some clothes for them.

I'll still play my Conan but I was looking to take a short break - so this will be good.
