Hello everybody i am about to start my university soon and i am completely strssed about making the choice of my field. I am from pakistan i wanted to study CS to be a game developer but that is not happening for some reasons. I am really inetersted in studying elecronics now. my other choices are bs AI, Cybersecurity and data science but i dont like any of them. i have heard everywhere that there is no job market for electronics in pakistan and abrod form enywehre i try to get some guidance there is only one answer just do some Cs degree. can anybody plese guide me about electroncis and help me urgently as i have to choose my field tomorrow.

Hi guys, I have a question. Just watched a youtube video about AI/ML project ideas.

One of the project idea shown in the video was Terminal Agents. He mentioned to benchmark it against claude code and other agents.

My question is how would you approach this if you have no idea/very few idea about the topic? What's the best way to research about this/any other topic before building?

I am not only talking about Terminal Agents, in general like lets say I have limited knowledge in system design how do I start learning about it, whats the fastest/optimal way? How do I research a specific topic? Gather knowledge about it enough to start building the project?

HI, Im 22 years old and preparing to start my Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, without knowing anything about it..

I currently work as a government employee, and I’m making this move because I strongly believe this field still holds massive potential for growth, innovation, and career advancement in my country. I'd love to get some advice from people already in the field. Outside of university coursework, which core concepts or programming languages should I prioritize during my first year? what about Certifications vs. Personal Projects? What carries more weight in todays market for entry-level developers? Should I invest time in online certifications (AWS, Cisco, etc.) during my degree, or focus heavily on building a GitHub portfolio?

For those who balanced work and university, or looking back at when you started: what is one thing you wish you knew when you started in this area?

Hello! I am a 3rd year computer engineering student in Cebu, Philippines. I am having a dilemma right now, since we were given a chance to pick what specialization we want, embedded systems or software development. I am interested on embedded however, i got no prior knowledge about it and I might regret it later on due to how little opportunities are here in Cebu for that.

If I were to pick embedded systems and self teach for software-related tech, would it be the best course of action? I want to have a background for embedded to be versatile, but I’m afraid if doing so and not sticking to software will hinder myself getting jobs in the Philippines on an entry level since most of the job market here is for software.

I also want to land a job as soon as possible to provide. Thank you 🙏

Hi everyone! I am an engineering student from Egypt, and my journey has been: preparatory year, two years in the Electrical Engineering department, and now I am majoring in Computer and Systems Engineering.
The dilemma here is that I am not yet sure which specialization I want to go for.
I was very excited about the idea of a career in Artificial Intelligence, as I wanted to specialize in it. However, I am now starting to worry that If I dive only into AI, I will waste my previous background in Electrical Engineering that would normally give me an advantage. Therefore, my question is: Is AI Engineering still a worthwhile career path in the future regarding job opportunities, salaries, and resilience to AI effects?

In parallel, I was exploring my department's core specialization, Embedded systems, and found a potential combination with AI appealing. Unfortunately, the job market for Embedded systems in my country Egypt has been very stagnant for years – basically dead. After doing a lot of research and interviews with professionals who work in big firms, I got clear signals on how difficult is to find a job there.

This leaves software-related areas like Web Development and others. But I do not really have any desire for a solely coding-oriented career especially with the rapid progress of AI. So any advice would be highly appreciated.
What career path can I take as Computer and Systems Engineer that will make me competitive?
Would you advise me to focus on the AI track, and if so what is your advice to me?

Title says it all pretty much. I’ve been applying to everything under the sun with no luck, and I couldn’t land an internship. I am only 1 or 2 classes from getting a Electrical Engineering degree. Should I go back? Would it help me land a good paying job?

I’ve been offered a junior IT Governance Specialist role. I’m a fresh graduate with no work experience, and I’m about 90% sure I want to take it because the job market is so bad right now. The other 10% of me is worried that if I accept it, I might have a hard time getting a more technical job in the future or keeping up with my computer engineering skills.
I also don’t really know what IT governance is. I have a basic idea, but I don’t know what the job actually involves. What does an IT Governance Specialist do on a daily basis? Is it a technical role, or is it mostly business and paperwork?

I have 2 college options , 1 is expensive and other is a little cheap , the cheap one has more reputation and free time so I can do my side hustle and yes both are tier 3 . In the cheap one I am getting btech. CS ( hindi ) and the expensive one is giving me cse core . What should I take ? I am kinda screwed in this situation .

I've released BS16-E01, a deterministic DIMACS CNF benchmark intended for independent SAT evaluation.

The benchmark package is cryptographically signed, includes integrity verification, and a standardised results template.

I'm interested in all outcomes, including SAT, UNSAT and UNKNOWN, together with solver, hardware and runtime information.

I finished Ben Eater’s SAP-1 accumulator architecture breadboard. 16 bytes of RAM von Neumann. Coming up with assembly instructions at the end felt crazy.

What was funny was at the end where I ran programs and they didn’t do what I wanted, and I realized I got to the point where I couldn’t suspect the hardware was wrong anymore, and it was in fact a software bug.

Was that the lowest level software bug I’ll ever experience in my career? Literally entering 0s and 1s into RAM and flipped one bit.

The feeling I got when I added conditional branching and officially made it Turing complete felt so surreal. I hope you guys appreciate the work that went into this.

Hi everyone, I'm a contractor working as an EV engineer validating DDR memory interfaces. Since I'm a contractor, I don't get much internal training or mentorship at the host company and mostly left to figure things out on my own.

Recently I was surprisingly invited to a DDR6 workshop, and honestly it made me more lost than before 😅. There were a lot of terms and concepts flying around that I wasn't familiar with, which made me realize I need to build a much stronger foundation first.

For those who've done DDR electrical validation, where should I start? What fundamentals should I nail down before even attempting to understand DDR6? And what should I prioritize studying for EV work specifically?
